Daigoji 醍醐寺の桜 １

I didn't visit to see ume, momo and almond blossoms in this year.
I knew that cherry blossoms at Daigoji in Kyoto were in full bloom. I visited there.

どうも今年は出不精で、梅も桃 もアーモンドも見に行けず。
京都の醍醐寺では老齢の大きな桜たちが見頃を迎えていると知り、3月28日やっと家を飛び出した。

At first I visited Sanboin. There were big cherry trees in full bloom.
まず、三宝院へ行きました。立派な桜がお出迎え。


This tree was too big and had long blanches, so they needed props.
あまりに大きくて、長くのびた枝は支えられていました。


It started drizzling.
こちらでは、お茶席がもうけられていましたが、ぱらぱら降ってきた雨で店じまい。



The main temple of Sanboin. There was a very beautiful Japanese garden. Toyotomi Hideyoshi ordered to build it in the end of 16th century.
三宝院本堂。ここから入り、庭園を見学しました。豊臣秀吉が晩年、造らせた日本庭園。こんなに美しい庭を見たことあるかしらと思うほど、うっとりするようなお庭でした。写真撮影が禁止なのが、残念です。

唐門。桃山時代のものだそうです。
