Hiking お花畑へ

I went hiking on the mountains for two days. On the first day, I spent on the mountain in the morning, and went to Tamagawa onsen in the afternoon. I left YH at 6 a.m. and took a bus for Hachigome, the eighth stage of Akita Komagatake.

田沢湖YHに３泊。秋田駒ヶ岳へは３日行くことができましたが、３日目は前夜からの大雨と前線通過のため山歩きは断念。1,2日目に山をお散歩しました。
１日目は午後から天気が下り坂のような天気予報。6時すぎにYHの前のバス停からバスに乗り、駒ヶ岳八合目まで約50分。途中からは、バス一台がやっと通れる細い道。ドライバーの運転技術はすごい！


I started walking on the path which was in good condition for anyone. It was foggy.

八合目で準備をして、お散歩を始めました。登山道入り口にある、案内図。この日は子どもから年配の人まで歩ける、ファミリーコースを歩いて、お気に入りの場所「秘密の花園」を目指しました。私が勝手に名付けてそう呼んでいるのですが。。。
あたりは霧で、真っ白。


I noticed these pretty flowers called Hakusanchidori as soon as I started hiking.
お散歩を始めて、まず出迎えてくれたのが、ハクサンチドリの花たち。
今回のお散歩で、とてもきれいに咲いていた花のひとつ。


White flower is rare.
白いハクサンチドリ。珍しい。


Sometimes the sunshine came.
日差しが時々、届きます。


Flowers got wet in the fog.
霧や雨でしっとりの花たち。


They looked like having prickles. Gozentachibana?
花にとげがある？　不思議な花。ゴゼンタチバナ、かしら。


The blue sky appeared.
青空が広がってきた。



I looked back. There were clouds below the path.
振り返ると、眼下に雲。


These yellow flowers are Nikkokisuge. They were blooming soon.
この辺りはニッコウキスゲの群落。もうすぐ開花。


The pond is Amidaike.
池が見えてきました。阿弥陀池。この辺りもお花畑。


There were countless beautiful flowers.
ヨツバシオガマ（？）など、たくさんの花が咲いていました。
この辺りまでがファミリーコースだと思います。


I looked down Amidaike.

The pathway I had walked was the middle of wild flowers.
歩いてきた、お散歩道。もうすぐ、お気に入りの場所。

Akita Komagatake 秋田駒ヶ岳

I visited one of my favorite places, Akita Komagatake, to see wild flowers. I enjoyed hiking among pretty flowers on the mountains. There are many hot springs around there. I also enjoyed onsen.
July 10, I flew to Hanamaki Airport, headed to Tazawako YH. I stayed at the YH for three nights. I'll put photos of flowers and scenery on this blog.

大好きな場所のひとつ、秋田駒ヶ岳を久しぶりに訪れました。ここは、高山植物のお花畑が素晴らしい！　いろいろな花たちが出迎えてくれるので、何時間歩いても疲れません。温泉もたくさんあって、お散歩後の温泉も最高！　2002年に初めて訪れてから、4-5回目。梅雨のわずかな合間に、てくてくお散歩できました。
7月10日。「強風のため伊丹空港に引き返す可能性もあります」という条件付きフライトでしたが、無事に花巻空港に到着。いつもお世話になっている、秋田県の田沢湖YHへ向かいました。その日は大雨と強風だったそうですが、「Yukiさんが来られたら、天気良くなりました」という嬉しい言葉に迎えられました。
これから、山の風景やお花たちを紹介していきます。

Gifu-Koen 岐阜公園

I visited Gifu-Koen. It has a Chinese garden.
岐阜公園に日中友好庭園がありました。



There were statues of animals on the roof. It reminded me of my Taiwan trip.
屋根に動物たちが並んでいました。台湾の公園を思い出しました。


There were streams and ponds in Gifu-Koen.
岐阜公園には、水辺が多い。


I noticed Ayu on a bridge railing.
橋の欄干にも、鮎たち。


I headed to Gifu-jo on the top of the hill by ropeway.
ロープウェイに乗って、岐阜城へ。

岐阜城から眺める風景。ここにはハイキング道がいくつかあります。急な坂が多そうですが、「雨の日も登っているよ」という市民も。


There was a pagoda.
ロープウェイから見えた、五重塔。


I took a walk around the park. I was impressed by the beauty of water and green.
公園をてくてくお散歩。うわぁ～、と惹きつけられた水と緑の美しさ。
この池の周りにはベンチもあり、のんびり過ごしている人たち。


Hydrangeas were blooming beautifully.
アジサイがきれいに咲いていました。


I had a rest. They were tofu and miso.
茶屋で少し休憩。豆腐に味噌。


I really enjoyed Gifu trip.
岐阜の旅。伝統の技を堪能した旅でした。

Water gate 水門

I kept on strolling. There was a pathway along a stream.
川原町あたりをてくてくお散歩。水辺のお散歩道がありました。





It looked like a robot.
楽しい水門。


I could see a castle, Gifu-jo, on the top of the mountain behind the water gate.
後ろの山の上には、小さく岐阜城が見えました。


It must be a floodgate.
増水した時には、ここは閉まるのでしょう。


This house has a floodgate.
長良川沿いの鵜匠さんの家。増水した時のための門でしょう。


There was another enjoyable one.
この水門は、鮎たちがかわいい。

Kawara-machi 川原町

I strolled around Kawara-machi. There were traditional houses in the area.
長良川鵜飼観覧船のりば近くに川原町はありました。
古い町並みをてくてくお散歩。




I noticed an alley.
細い路地が気になります。




This building might be a restaurant or a shop.
真っ赤な傘が、印象的。




There was the restaurant called Izumiya, which I had seen on a magazine and made me come to Gifu. I ordered Ayu-zosui Gozen.
こんな静かな町並みに、泉屋さんがありました。
鮎塩焼が付いた「鮎コース」、「鮎らーめん御膳」などのメニューがありましたが、岐阜を旅するきっかけとなった雑誌でビビッときた「鮎ぞうすい御膳」を頂きました。


Some food were served before Ayu-zosui. They were delicious!

I kept on walking after lunch.
昼食後も、てくてくお散歩。

Ukai-no-Sato 鵜飼の里 2

You can meet cormorants at the restaurant U-no-An U. These cormorants were caught at the coast in Ibaragi prefecture. They start fishing in front of people after few years training. They live here about twenty years.

レストラン「鵜の庵　鵜」では、鵜たちに会えます。ガラス越しに鵜たちを眺めたり、庭を歩いたり。
鵜飼の鵜たちは茨城県の海岸で捕獲された海鵜で、２−３年の訓練の後、鵜飼デビュー。鵜匠の家で愛情たっぷり、しっかり健康診断されて育つので、約20年という野生よりずっと長い寿命だとか。


The doors of this cage are open. They can go out whenever they like.
奥のケージは、外に出たい時に出れるように、扉があいています。
この日は晴れていたので、日陰のケージの中が心地よかったのでしょう。ほとんどの鵜はケージの中でのんびり。


Their eyes are beautiful blue!
きれいな姿です。ブルーの瞳がかわいい。


Some cormorants were flying, jumping and walking in front of me.
飛んだり、跳んだり、歩いたり。



It was looking into the restaurant.
レストランの中を覗き込み、人間観察。





They watch human beings in the restaurant everyday.
鵜たちは、このように人間観察してるのでしょう。


I like watching bird's face from the front. It's cute.
It reminded me of gannets in NZ .
正面から見た顔。かわいい！
ニュージーランドのネイピアで出会ったカツオドリたちを思い出しました。


It was standing on an old boat, making sound with its puffed throat.
以前使用していた鵜舟（？）に乗って、喉を震わせていました。かわいい！

Ukai-no-Sato 鵜飼の里 1

I stayed at a hotel by the river one night. It has hot spring.
On the following peaceful morning, I took a walk along the river. There were boats for cormorant fishers.

幻想的な鵜飼の夜は、長良川沿いのホテルに１泊。有馬温泉の金泉のような鉄分を含む茶褐色の温泉。
次の朝、てくてくお散歩。鵜舟が静かに並んでいました。鵜飼はこの少し上流で行われました。


There were birds in the river.
長良川には、川鵜たち。鵜飼で活躍する鵜は、海鵜だそうです。


This beautiful bird is a gray heron.
アオサギ。美しい。


There was a tomb for cormorants.
少し離れた場所に、鵜飼の鵜を供養している「鵜塚」がありました。



All six Usho, cormorant fisher, live at an area called Ukai-no-Sato.
鵜匠６人の家は、鵜飼の里と呼ばれる地域に集まっています。


There were firewood.
篝火の松の木。


I visited a restaurant run by a cormorant fisher, U-no-An U.
また別の鵜匠の家。


You can see the costume of cormorant fisherman at the restaurant.
レストラン「鵜の庵　鵜」を訪れました。庭には鵜匠の伝統的な装束がありました。


I had ayu grilled with salt.
鮎の塩焼。


This ayu had been caught by a cormorant at the previous night. There was a beak mark on the fish!
「これは、昨夜鵜が獲った鮎です。くちばしの跡があるでしょう。」と約8cmの鮎をサービスしてくださいました。お醤油で頂きました。感激！

Cormorant fishing 長良川鵜飼 2

Ukai started at 19:45 after fireworks. There are six Usho, cormorant fisherman. Each of them got on their own boat.
花火を合図に鵜飼が開始されます。この日は19時45分でした。
鵜匠は６名。宮内庁式部職で世襲制度となっていて、親から技が受け継がれています。







I could watch Ukai very close. I was so excited! Usho shouted encouragement for cormorants, then cormorants jumped into the water to get fish. I felt that Usho and cormorants trusted each other. The technique of Usho was elegant.

目の前で鵜飼の様子を見ることができて、大感激。「ほう、ほう」と鵜匠のかけ声で鵜たちが水中へ飛び込みます。鵜が飲み込んだ鮎を鵜舟のカゴに出させるのも、手際良くて一瞬のこと。
鵜匠の技の素晴らしさ、鵜と鵜匠の信頼関係の強さを感じました。


All six boats moved in line, got fish together.
各鵜舟での漁の後、「総がらみ」といわれる、鵜舟６隻で一斉に鮎を浅瀬に追い込む漁が行われました。明かりの火の粉が観覧船に入りそうな程、そばを通っていきました。




Ukai has a history of 1300 years. It was so gorgeous.
約1300年の伝統の技。素晴らしい！

Cormorant fishing 長良川鵜飼 1

I visited Gifu to watch Ukai, cormorant fishing, on June 8.
雑誌に美味しそうな「鮎ぞうすい」の記事と写真が載っていた。
６月８日、岐阜市に行ってみました。調べてみると、ちょうど鵜飼が見れるらしい。


There were sightseeing boats along the riverbank.
鵜飼観覧船が並んでいました。多い日には45隻くらい出るとか。



It was a boat which had toilets.
トイレ船もあります。


Sightseeing boats depart three different times. I made a booking for 19:15 departure boat.
観覧船には予約が必要。18:15、18:45、19:15の３コースのうち、19:15を予約しました。


I headed to the departure point after dinner.
夕食後、遊覧船乗り場へ。早い出発の船が上流へ向かっていました。


I went on board a sightseeing boat. There were about 20 people including foreigners on it.
19時すぎに、指定された観覧船に乗り、出発。
船には約20名。外国人もちらほら。


It was getting dark.
日が暮れていくなか、上流の鵜飼が行われる場所へ向かいます。


People on the boats were waiting for the start of Ukai.
船が並んでいて、鵜飼の開始を待っていました。


Some boats departed early and people had dinner on the boats.
There were about 22 boats on the day. If it was the weekend, the number of boats might be more than 40.
早い出発の船では、夕食や宴会が行われていました。
この日は平日にも関わらず、約22隻が出ていたとか。

Limestone Cave 石垣島鍾乳洞 2

I kept on walking in the cave.
この鍾乳洞は、いろいろ楽しい。


There was an illumination in the cave.
鍾乳洞にイルミネーションがありました。


Suikinkutsu, dripping water make music-like-sound with a pot.
水琴窟。


Juken-ishi, it seemed trying not to fall like students preparing for entrance examination.

It looked like Totoro, a character of Miyazaki Hayao's movie.
トトロ鍾乳石。






Suzuishi, natural bell, were sold at a shop.
カラカラと音が鳴る不思議な「鈴石」。売店に並んでいました。
