Pukeko and Swan プケコと黒鳥

After I came back from Cape Kidnappers, I visited National Aquarium of New Zealand, then I enjoyed walking on the beach and the town filled with Art Deco buildings.
In the evening I headed to the airport. When I was in a taxi, I saw black swans in a pond. I wanted to get off to watch the birds, but I had to go to the airport to change earlier flight. First I got a bording pass for Auckland, then I walked back to the pond to watch birds.

ニュージーランドの旅２日目。キッドナッパーズ岬からネイピアに戻り、水族館に寄った後、海岸やアールデコの建物の街並みをてくてくお散歩。
夕方、インフォメーションでタクシーを呼んでもらい、空港へ向かった。空港の近くに水辺があり、黒い白鳥らしき姿がタクシーから見えた。そこで降ろしてもらおうかと、思ったのだけど、オークランド行きのフライトを一便早めにしたかったので、まず空港へ行き手続き。
その後、空港からてくてくお散歩。日の入りが20:40くらいなので、17時はまだまだ明るい。


On my way to the pond black swans stayed, I noticed two blue birds walking. I watched them with my binoculars. They were pukekos. I was so happy to see them for the first time. Actually there are two pukekos in this photo. Can you find them?

黒鳥が見えた場所の手前で、青っぽい鳥が歩いているのが見えた。双眼鏡をのぞくと、タカへに似ている鳥、プケコ。予測外の初お目見えだったので、嬉しくて双眼鏡で見ていると、どんどん向こうの方へ。私の普通のデジカメでは、とても小さくにしか写りませんでしたが、、、この写真の中に２羽いるのです。。。


I kept walking. Finally I reached the pond where black swans were floating.
黒鳥のいる池に向かって、てくてくお散歩。２kmくらいありました。到着すると、いました！　黒い白鳥（？）。黒鳥たち。
まったく予想していなかった出会いに感謝。



I stayed there, watched birds for a while. Then I walked to the airport. I flew to Auckland, stayed at Auckland YHA on the night.
しばらく眺めて、空港に戻りました。また約50人定員の飛行機で50分。オークランドのYHで一泊。３日目はティリティリマタンギ島に上陸です。
