Tiritiri Matangi ティリティリマタンギ島 4

I watched takahes for 15-20 minutes. The number of them in this island was mentioned about ten. Then I started walking to the wharf.

前回紹介したタカへは、この島には約10羽。いつまでもタカへ親子を眺めていたかったけど、出航の時間が迫ってきたので、港への遊歩道をてくてくお散歩。海にはヨットが浮かんでいました。


I walked on the path under the shade of trees. I noticed that three people were sitting on the bench by the pathway, watching something.

木々に囲まれた遊歩道。途中、遊歩道の右側にベンチがあり、３人座っていました。何をしているのかなと近づくと、



There was a water place for birds in front of them. I joined them.

遊歩道の左側、ベンチの正面に、小鳥たちのための水飲み場がありました。私もそのベンチに座って、しばらく小鳥たちを眺めることにしました。


After few minutes, birds came to the water. Most of them were Tuis.
しばらく、じっとしていると。鳥たちが次々にやってきました。ほとんどがトゥイです。


They were drinking.
水を飲んだり。


It was bathing.
水浴びをしたり。


Tui has the elegant costume and beautiful songs.
トゥイ。白いぼんぼりを首につけ、白いふわふわした襟巻き。腰あたりは、きれいなブルー。声も美しい。


A brown bird came.
茶色い背中の小鳥がやってきました。


North Island saddleback ( Maori name is Tieke ). They were released in 1984 here. Now they are over six hundreds.
サドルバック。1984年にこの島に放され、今は600羽以上に増えているそうです。


It was bathing.
水浴び中。


Red Crowned Parakeet ( Maori name is Kakariki ). They were released in 1974.
インコもやってきました。レッド・クラウンド・パラキート。1974年に放され、現在は数百羽。
とても落ち着きがなく、どの写真もぼけてしまいました。


Bellbird
ベルバード。


I started walking again. The ship was waiting for us.
再び遊歩道を、てくてくお散歩。船は私たちを待っています。
