Johana 城端 1

On the following morning, I visited Johana. It took about 30 minutes from Tonami by train.
This station building was about 110 years old.

砺波から電車で約30分。越中の小京都と呼ばれる城端（じょうはな）。五箇山行きのバスが来るまでの約4時間半、てくてくお散歩。
城端の駅舎は明治30年の鉄道開通時からずっと現役だそうです。


I took a walk in the town. This is a general house in this area. Trees protect a house from strong winds.

パンフレットを見ながら、街めぐりコースを歩こうと思ったのですが、出発直後から寄り道。一般家屋なのですが、とても素敵です。家のかたわらには、大きな木が並んでいます。


I walked along a stream. I met a local man, he said that the water rose in this river and brought many big rocks from the mountain a few month ago.

川沿いを歩いてみました。お散歩中のおじさまは、「この間の雨の時に、大きな石とか流れて来たんよ。水はあふれるほど流れたよ。」と話してくれました。




There were many alleys and slopes. I strolled in the town.
小路や坂が多く、気の向くまま歩いてみました。


Sakura-zaka, cherry slope. This lane must be gorgeous in the cherry blossom season.
桜坂。春には、かたわらの桜の木が咲いて、美しい小路でしょう。


This shrine was surrounded by glass walls, must be protected from winds and snow.
稲荷神社。何か違和感が、、、と思って気づきました。ガラスがお堂を守っています。


I kept on walking, I noticed a small shrine which was not on the guide map.
お散歩していると、小さなお社に気づきました。ガイドマップには載っていません。



It was a small shrine in tall trees. It was quiet, I felt something sacred.
大きな木に守られたお社でした。地元の人たちに大切にされている、静かな空間でした。
