Johana 城端 4

There were traditional houses along the street which used to be a main road led to Gokayama.
旧五箇山街道の本通りには、その歴史が感じられる町家が並んでいました。





Villages of Gokayama are located behind the mountains.
町外れまで歩くと、田畑が広がっていました。五箇山はあの山の向こうです。

柿畑では、収穫をされていました。


I went back to the central of the town. Zentoku-ji.
街の中心に戻りました。城端はこの善徳寺の門前町として栄えました。


This building was Dozo, storehouse with thick mortar walls, reconstructed and used as a museum. I could see gorgeous floats of festival and listen the story about spring festival in the museum. I was impressed, so I'd like to come back Johana on the day of the festival, May 5.

土蔵を改築した歴史展示館です。城端曳山会館が併設されていて、「曳山祭」の曳山や傘鉾が展示されていました。５月５日には、恵比寿さまなど大きな御神像を乗せた曳山と庵屋台が町を巡行するそうです。立派な曳山を見ながらお話を聞いていると、実際のお祭りを見てみたくなりました。次に城端を訪れるのは、お祭りの日かも。
五箇山行きのバスがやってくるまで、ここでお祭り気分に浸っていました。
