Iriomote 西表島 3 祖内

I went back to Shirahama, headed to Urauchi river by bicycle. When I was riding a bicycle, I noticed a small round shaped island. I stopped and gazed it from the beach.
舟浮から定期船に乗って、白浜へ戻りました。自転車で浦内川へ向かっている時、なんとなく海に浮かぶ小島が気になって、寄り道。海岸に自転車を止めて、海を眺めていました。この小島、「まるまぼんさん」という名前がついていました。


At the time, I heard something. A bird were walking. As I turned my camera towards it, it hid only its head behind the weeds.
近くから、何かの声が聞こえました。クイナのような鳥がとことこ歩きながら鳴いていました。カメラを向けると、「頭隠して尻隠さず」


There was a shrine, which had been important for local peoples' festival for 500 years.
少し進むと、御獄がありました。ここでは500年の伝統がある国の重要無形文化財に指定された「西表島節祭」が行われるそうです。


There was a great ocean view from the shrine.
この御獄からは、海の景色がきれいに見渡せます。


There were coral walls, not stone walls.
石垣は、珊瑚の積み重ね。


This village was Sonai.
ここは祖内という集落でした。


Sonai was a nice village.
街並みがかわいくて、美しい。


There was a traditional house.
古い家がありました。行ってみましょう。





I was lucky that I stopped by a nice village by chance.
たまたま寄り道した祖内。思いがけない出会いの連続でした。
