Blue Mountains in 2006 ブッシュウオーキング 1

I had lunch at Scenic World. After lunch, I noticed that there was a pathway from the top of the cliff to the bottom. I decided to go to the bottom by foot. I climbed down on steep slops and stairs.

シーニック・ワールドで景色を眺めながら、サンドイッチのランチ。谷へはシーニック・レイルウエイに乗って降りようと思っていたのですが、歩いて降りれる遊歩道を発見。歩くことにしました。急な坂や階段が続きます。
オーストラリアではハイキングのことを”Bush Walking ブッシュウオーキング”と言うそうです。


I bought a walking guide on the previous night at the YH.
前日、YHで買ったガイドブックに、イラスト入りの地図がありました。


There was a pathway toward Katoomba Waterfall.
ロープウエイから見えた滝、カトゥンバ滝。滝の真ん中あたりへと続く遊歩道があり、寄ってみました。


The pathway was surrounded by trees.
豊な緑に囲まれた遊歩道。とても気持ち良い。

I was alone at the time. It was very quiet. I felt like the nature talked to me something important.
断崖の高い滝と、それに続く広い滝。そして周りに緑。こんな景色を独りじめ。
とても神秘的で、自然から何か語りかけられたような瞬間でした。


Many tourists walked down the cliff on the walking track.
谷へと降りる遊歩道に戻りました。遊歩道を歩く人は結構いました。


People have enjoyed this great view for a long time. I imagine that it was difficult to walk in a such dress.
昔の人々も、この景色を楽しんでいたのですね。しかし、こんな服装での山歩きは大変だったことでしょう。


There were signs not to be lost. But I met an elderly couple climbing up. They asked me if Railway to the top would be soon. I showed my walking guide and told them the correct pathway.

遊歩道は整備されています。しかし、息を切らせながら登ってくる年配の夫婦に出会いました。「上へ登るレイルウエイはもうすぐですか？」と聞かれ、地図を見せながら道を間違えていることを教えました。「この人がこっちだと言うものだから。。。」「ありがとう」と飴をいただきました。


I enjoyed various scenery, it was a pleasant bush walking.
こんなところもありました。とても楽しいお散歩。


I also enjoyed various plants.
とんがり葉っぱ。


There were tiny flowers.
小さい花たち。




I walked and jogged down the pathway for about thirty minute, reached at the bottom of the cliff. Then I kept on walking on the walking track along the cliff.

時々かけ足で約30分。谷底へ着きました。歩いて降りて良かったー。
ここにはレイルウエイで降りてきた人たちもいて、たくさんの人たちがお散歩を楽しんでいました。ここからは、断崖沿いに歩きました。
