Nîmes ニーム

I visited Nîmes after Alres. I spent pleasant morning time in this park until the openning of the Roman amphitheatre.

フランス、プロヴァンス地方の最終日。
訪れたいところが多くて、どこを訪れようか前日まで悩みました。結局、ニームへ行くことに。
アルルから電車でニームへ。ちょうど、直行する電車がありました。朝早かったので、この公園でしばし休憩。





This is the Roman amphitheatre, which was built in the first century.
公園のそばにあった古代闘技場へ。紀元１世紀に建てられたもの。


I walked in the passage.
闘技場内部の廊下。


Even now it is used as a bull fighting and concert arena.
現在も闘牛やコンサートで使用されているとか。


Gladiators were heroes for people.
剣闘士たちは、それぞれの武器や戦術で戦った。人々から尊敬されていたそうです。


The Maison Carrée (Square House)
闘技場から少し歩くと、ギリシャ風神殿のメゾン・カレ。


Heroes of Nîmes, a short movie was on in it.
メゾン・カレでは、「ニームのヒーローたち」というニームの歴史を紹介する短編映画が上映されていました。


I kept walking in the town.
ニームの街を、てくてくお散歩。


I climbed up a hill, reached Tour Magne on the top.
丘の頂上に、マーニュ塔。この塔を登ると、


I could splended panorama view from the top of the tower.
Then I took a walk in the town, and headed Nîmes station. I took TGV from Avignon to Paris where I stayed on the last night in this France trip.
ニームの街が見渡せました。
このあと街歩きを続けながら、駅へ戻りました。アヴィニョンから直行のTGVでパリまで2時間40分。パリのYHに20時すぎ到着。フランスの旅、最後の宿泊でした。
