Yakushima -Yakushima land- ヤクシマランド1

October 24th, the last day of Yakushima trip. I was planning for the day, kayaking or rental motorbike or …? But a lady who I met at the YH at the night before said “ Yakushima land is much better that the impression from the name. I really like the place!” I decided to visit Yakushima land.

10月24日、屋久島最後の日。
川でカヤックをしようか、レンタル原チャリで島を走っていろいろ見てみようか、などと考えたのだけど。前夜にYHで出会った人の「ヤクシマランドって、名前から想像するより、ずーっといいところですよ。私、好きです。」との言葉で、ヤクシマランドへ行くことに決定。


I took a bus at Hirauchi-iriguchi, changed buses at Makino. There was a store at Makino, I bought food for lunch at the store.
屋久島YH近くからバスに乗り、牧野で乗り換え。
ちょうどバス停前にスーパーがあり、お昼ご飯を買う。バスが来るまでこのガジュマルの木の下で待った。


There were 3 passengers on the bus. I saw Tachu-dake from the bus. There was a huge rock (40m high) called Tenchuseki on the top of Tachu-dake. There was a trail from Yakushima land to Tenchuseki, I’d like to walk to the rock in the future.
バスはどんどん登って行く。途中、太忠岳が見えた。右に突き出た岩は天柱石といい、高さ40mくらいあるらしい。ヤクシマランドから登山道があるので、次回はぜひ行きたい。バスの運転手によると、地元の小学生は遠足で太忠岳へ登るとか。


At first, I passed by Yakushima land, visited Kigen-sugi.
まず、紀元杉を見に行く。ヤクスギランドの前を通り過ぎて20分。
岡本太郎の太陽の塔みたい、と思ったのは私だけ？


There was a pathway around Kigen-sugi. The cedar was huge, about 8m around, 19.5m high, estimated 3000 years old.
紀元杉の周囲には遊歩道がある。そこから見る紀元杉は、素晴らしい〜〜。幹は太く、約8m。高さは19.5m、推定樹齢3000年。遊歩道は観光客が杉の根っこを踏まないように設置されたのでしょう。


I looked up the cedar.
見上げると、こんな感じ。どっしりしていて、かっこいい。
