Hoppo Yasoen 北邦野草園 2

Lots of flowers bloom in Hoppo Yasoen in spring. In the middle of August, the number of flowers was fewer than in spring, but I found some.
春には、カタクリやエゾエンゴサク、シラネアオイなどの花が一面に咲くそうですが、8月中旬は花は控えめ。
それでも、あちらこちらで咲いていました。













Can you see a butterfly in the center of the photo?
I’m sure I’ll visit there in spring to see more flowers.
写真の真ん中に、アゲハチョウがいるのが見えますか？
“嵐山の植物”という花の写真集を買ったので、次はいつ訪れようかと企んでいます。。。

Hoppo Yasoen 北邦野草園 1

I visited a botanical gerden, Hoppo Yasoen, at the foot of Arashiyama.
This is a traditional bamboo grass house next to the entrance of Hoppo Yasoen.
嵐山公園のふもとにある北邦野草園を訪れた。
ここは、北邦野草園の入り口のそばにある、伝承のコタン。アイヌの伝統家屋（笹小屋）。


Hoppo Yasoen. There were 30 minutes course, 1 hour course and 2 hours course. What I was impressed was the pathway of moss. It was soft, like a carpet.
北邦野草園。30分コース、1時間コース、2時間コースとあり、標識が立ってる。感動したのは、この苔の遊歩道。緑の絨毯の上を歩いているようで、気持ちいい。


Ezonyu was big and common in Hokkaido.
のっぽのエゾニュウ。北海道に来たんだ〜と実感する。


Obayuri had seedpods.
オオウバユリ。花は終わって、実が膨らんでいる。


Obayuri bigger than me, looked like ballerinas.
のっぽのオオウバユリたちが、バレリーナのように並んでいる。


There were big trees in the botanical garden.
立派な木たちも、たくさんありました。

この薄いピンク色が、なんともかわいく思えて、パチリ。

Asahiyama Zoo 旭山動物園

The sightseeing bus ran on a circular route in Asahikawa. I took the bus, visited Asahiyama Zoo, Arashiyama and Mihonrin forest.
The bus left the middle of the city, ran along fields.
At first, I visited Asahiyama Zoo. It was crowded. There were many children on their summer holidays.
I waited in line for Penguin kan.

旭川では、旭川観光循環バス“ファンファン”が走っていて、私が行きたいと思っていた「旭山動物園」「嵐山」「外国樹種見本林」にも停車するので、利用した。
バスが市街地から離れると、田園風景。ポニーの姿も見える。
まずは、旭山動物園。朝から人がいっぱい。夏休みのため子どもも多いし、外国人も多い。ペンギン館は大人気。


Penguins were flying in the water.
おー、ペンギンが水中を飛んでいる。


People were walking in the water.
おー、人が水中を歩いている。


Seals were swimming through a tube.
あざらし君、気持ち良さそう。


Seals were swimming in front of people.
今日も人が多いなぁ。


There were ropes and baskets for animals playing.
動物達が遊べるように、いろいろ工夫されている。


A chimpanzee was playing with a rope.
ロープで遊ぶ、チンパンジーのこども。


The zoo was at the foot of Asahiyama.
この動物園は、旭山のふもとにあり、景色も良い。


Three chimpanzees were sitting on the tube, which people were walking through.
ドームの上には、チンパンジーの親子。「今日は、いろんな人が通っているね。」と、話しているのかな。
人間が動物を見ているのか、動物が人間観察しているのか。


“Don’t disturb my siesta.”
昼寝してるんだから、静かにしてよね。


“It’s very hot in this year!”
しかし、今年は暑いなぁ。

Hokkaido in August 旭川・美瑛

I often visit Maria’s blog which Maria in Asahikawa posts splendid photos of Asahikawa everyday. I wanted to be in the beautiful landscape, so I visited Asahikawa and Biei in the middle of August.

旭川在住のまりあさんのブログを毎日見ていて、旭川と美瑛へ行きたいとの思いがどんどん膨らんだ。広々とした風景と、その奥には大雪山系や十勝岳連峰、素晴らしい。
8月中旬、連休があったので旅に出た。夏の美瑛はかなり久しぶり。もしかしたら、初めてかも。


I stayed at Bibaushi Liberty YH for three nights. I stayed there for cross-country skiing in winter more that ten years ago.
The owner welcomed travellers as warmly as before, and they served delicious food.
I met travellers from different places of Japan, Taiwan and Korea at the YH.

以前クロスカントリースキーがお気に入りだった頃、何度かお世話になった“美馬牛リバティYH”に３泊した。
今も変わらず、旅人を暖かく迎えてくれる。食事もおいしい。
１泊目は、今年６月に山梨の勝沼ぶどう郷YHで出会った旅人に再会。お互いビックリ。ライダーも多かった。２、３泊目は外国からの旅人も数名。台湾からのAmyは同室で、一緒にお祭りへ行ったり、会話を楽しんだ。大学生の姉と弟の自転車の旅、中学生の双子の女の子二人旅、夫婦の旅と、いろいろな人たちに出会った。


Bibaushi station was small, just behind the YH.
美瑛駅のとなり、無人駅の小さな美馬牛駅。美馬牛リバティYHは駅のすぐそばなので、とても便利。
しばらく、旭川・美瑛の旅の写真を載せていきます。

Taiwan 3 Taipei Zoo 台北市立動物園

I often visit a local zoo on a trip to see local animais. I visited Taipei Zoo. It was so large, I couldn't go all areas in a half day.
I got a brochure in Japanese and English at the information.

旅先で動物園を訪れることが多い。そこでしか見られない動物たちが待っているから。最終日、半日あったので、動物園を訪れた。
入り口で、パンフレットをもらったけど、中国語。インフォメーションで日本語か英語のパンフレットがないか尋ねると、日本語と英語が併記されているものを頂いた。この動物園は広く、半日では全部まわれない。


Animals live in a large space.
ここでは、動物達が自然に近い状態で生活できるようにと、配慮されていた。


Tropical rain forests area.
ここは、熱帯雨林区。


Malayan tapir, looked like a panda.
パンダではなく、「馬来獏」マレーバク。


It said it was delicious, but…
「オイシ〜イ」と書いてありましたが、ちょっと口に合いませんでした。。。


Birds from Southeast Asia and China were colorful.
中国や東南アジアの鳥たち。カラフルです。




It looked like hippos in the water.
カバが水面から顔を出しているようです。


Children were playing on a zebra statue.
隣りのシマウマには、子ども達が乗って遊んでいました。


There were eight kinds of Formosan animals in the zoo.
A clouded leopard was sleeping.
台湾動物区では、台湾固有の動物たち８種類がいました。
これは、「雲豹」ウンピョウ。台湾の山奥に住んでいるそうです。
