Sakaiminato 境港

I visited Sakaiminato by train. Sakaiminato is famous for a cartoonist, Mizuki Shigeru. He is the author of “Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro”. One of its characters, Nezumi-Otoko, on the stairs shown me the train for Sakaiminato.
米子から境港へは、電車かバス。電車で行ってみました。
ホームにいる時から楽しい。階段にはネズミ男の姿。


I took a Yokai train. Characters were all over the train.
電車（妖怪列車）は４種類。これは「目玉おやじ」。他には「鬼太郎」「ねずみ男」「ねこ娘」。駅それぞれに妖怪の名前も付いていました。米子駅はねずみ男駅。境港駅は鬼太郎駅。その他、こなきじじい駅や砂かけばばあ駅などもありました。


Kitaro and Medama-Oyaji
目玉おやじがいっぱい。


There were Kitaro and Medama-Oyaji inside the train.
車内の天井にも、鬼太郎と目玉おやじ。


The statues of ghosts welcomed me. The weather was changeable, sometimes heavy rain fell. At first I went in a restaurant and had lunch.
境港では妖怪たちがお出迎え。
相変わらず天候が不安定で、強い雨が降ったりやんだり。まず、駅前でおいしいお刺身定食を頂きました。


When I finished lunch, the rain had stopped. I started walking on a road from the train station to Mizuki Shigeru museum, Mizuki Shigeru Road. There was a park beside the road.
遅い昼食が終わった頃には、雨が上がっていました。
駅から800m続く「水木しげるロード」を歩きました。公園では電灯が目玉おやじ。あちこちに妖怪たちが隠れていました。


Many people took photos with this statue, Nezumi-Otoko.
人気者のねずみ男。


There were more than 100 statues of ghosts along the road. I’m not a fan of Mizuki Shigeru, but I felt fun.
通りには100以上の妖怪たちが並んでいます。水木しげるフアンでなくても、楽しくなってきます。


Yokai-jinja
妖怪神社。


The big stone eyeball was turnning on the water blew up. It was interesting, people gathered and gazed at it.
妖怪神社の前にあった、石の目玉。下から水が吹き上がっていて、目玉はくるくる回ります。観光客たちは、不思議そうにのぞき込んでいました。



There were the ststues of Mizuki Shigeru, Kitaro, Nezumi-Otoko and Medama-Oyaji in front of the train station. I had a joyful walking at Sakaiminato.
最近建てられた、水木しげると妖怪たちの像。駅前にありました。とても楽しいお散歩でした。
