Daisenji 大山寺 1

I visited Daisen in Tottori prefecture to see autumn color. I wanted to walk around Daisenji and in the woods all day, but the weather was not good. I stayed there for half a day.
It took about fifty minutes from Yonago station by bus.

鳥取県の大山。紅葉がきれいだと聞いて訪れた。「大山満喫、てくてくお散歩」としたかったのですが、天気が良くなかったので半日で下山しました。
米子からバスで約50分。春から秋の土日などには「大山る〜ぷバス」という循環バスがあり、一日乗り放題1000円だったので利用した。


I got off at Daisen bus stop, walked up a path to Daisenji. There were shops and ryokans along the path. Many people headed to the temple.
I reached the gate of the temple.

バス停の大山寺で下車。そこから大山寺へまっすぐのびる参道を歩く。参道沿いにはお土産店や旅館が並ぶ。急な坂道を年配の人々や白装束の人々など、次々とやってくる。
やっと山門。年配の方達は「ここからは階段が多いから、ここで待ってるわ」と話していた。
辺りは紅葉がきれい。赤より黄色がメイン。


The stone stairs led to the main temple.
石段を登ると、大山寺本堂。


Hougyu. It’s said that patting on it and making ONE wish will come ture.
かたわらには、宝牛。一つだけ願いを込めて撫でると願いが叶うと言われています。


Its head was polished by people’s hands.
みんなに撫でられて、お顔はピカピカ。


This stone pathway led to Ogamiyamajinja-okumiya.
石畳の参道の先には、大神山神社奥宮。


Chikara-ishi. It’s said that people competed their power with this stone in old times.
参道わきにあった、僧兵の力石。この力石で力を競ったとか。


I enjoyed the colorful leaves and headed to the shrine ahead.
奥宮への参道を、紅葉を眺めながら歩きます。
