Amami Oshima - Arrival- 奄美大島

I heard of Amami Oshima last September in Hokkaido. A traveler said to me “ I’ve been to Amami Oshima. It was wonderful! Not only the sea, but also the forest.” I met a traveler from Kagoshima last October in Yakushima. She said to me “Kagoshima has lots of Islands. Each of them is attractive.” I couldn’t wait to visit Amami Oshima.

奄美大島に行きたいと思ったのは、昨年９月。北海道の大雪山で「奄美大島、良かったですよ。海だけでなく、山も良かったよ。」と旅人に聞いてから。10月には屋久島の旅で鹿児島人の旅人に出会い、鹿児島の島々は良いと知り、早く奄美に行きたくなった。


I flew to Amami Oshima on January 14th.
Amami Oshima had lots of woods!
1月14日、寒い関西から脱出。
奄美大島が飛行機から見えてきた。山が多いことにびっくり。


Just before landing. The color of the sea was wonderful!
もうすぐ着陸。海がきれい！


The picture of Amami rabbit, purple jay and habu welcomed me at the entrance of Amami airport.
I took a bus, headed to the north of the island, Koniya.
空港の入り口では、アマミノクロウサギ、ルリカケス、ハブ君たちが、歓迎してくれていた。
予定をほとんど立てず、いつもよりもっと行き当たりばっ旅。当日の朝予約した宿に向かうため、バスで島南部の古仁屋へ。
