Autumn in 2006 - Gansenji 岩船寺

After I walked on Takisaka-no-michi and Kasugayama-yuhodo, I stayed at Nara YH. There were many people at the YH, most of all came from different places of Japan and enjoyed walking together. I talked to one of them, she said “I’m from Tokyo. We walked for 20km today. We’ll also walk for 20km tomorrow. We enjoy walking at many places in Japan.” Most of people were over 60 years old, but they looked healthy and younger than their age.
I left Nara YH in the morning on November 26th, I took a bus to Gansenji-guchi. I walked in the countryside, headed to Gansenji.

滝坂の道から奈良YHへ向かう途中、岩船寺へのバスのバス停と時間をチェック。他のパンフレットなどには載っていなかった７時台の便があることがわかり、早起きすることにした。
奈良YHには、ウオーキング大会に参加していた人たちも泊まっていた。全国から集まってきた人々で、「今日は郡山から平城京の方へ、20kmくらい歩きました。明日も20kmくらいかなぁ。」と話してくれた。年配の人も多く、みんな元気。
11月26日（日）。7時前、奈良YHを出発。7:28のバスに乗ると、乗客は私ひとり。25分で岩船寺口。田んぼの中のいなか道をてくてくお散歩。花の写真を撮ってると、犬と散歩の女性が「何かわいいの、撮ってるの？」と言って、通り過ぎて行った。時間が、まったりと流れる。



There was a path, a sign standing beside the path said “wheelchairs are able to go through.”
途中で車道と歩道に分かれる。歩道には“車いすも通れます”という表示があった。


The path led from fields to in the woods.
田んぼの中の道から、木々の中へ。車いすも通れる道。


I arrived at Gansenji at 8:40. Maple trees and cedars welcomed me.
岩船寺前。8:30過ぎに到着。紅葉がきれい。


Hon-do (main temple). There were a statue of Buddha and other statues in the building.
岩船寺の本堂。中には立派な仏像などがあり、見応えあり。


Sanju-no-to
三重塔 (pagoda)


I climbed up on the path next to the Sanju-no-to, I arrived at Kaihuki-iwa. People used to blew trumpet shell here to communicate to distance people. I could see houses and mountains from here.
三重塔の横の歩道をどんどん登って行くと、急に視界が開けた。貝吹岩。ここで、ホラ貝を吹いていたとか。まちや山並みが望める。
