Perth Zoo 1 動物園

I like visiting zoo while I was traveling to watch local life.
旅先では、よく動物園を訪れます。その地方でしか見られない動物がいるから。


There were beautiful birds such as glossy ibises and a yellow-billed spoonbill.
ヘラサギやブロンズトキなど見慣れない鳥たちがいて、いくら眺めていても飽きません。


When I visited Melbourne eight years ago, I watched little penguins walking towards their nests in the beach.
リトルペンギン。８年前メルボルンを訪れた際、海から戻るこのペンギン達を観察する「ペンギンパレード」を見に行きました。


This is an male splendid fairy wren.
ムラサキオーストラリアムシクイ。春だけ雄がこの色で、他の季節はメスと同じような地味な薄茶になるそうです。


It was a big crocodile. Children were siting in front of it and stared.
大きなワニでした。じーっとしていて、貫禄十分。とても人気で、子どもたちも水槽の前でじーっと見つめていました。


Kangaroos were lying.
カンガルーたちは、夜行性なのでしょう。


A wombat was walking around, looked like a stuffed toy.
ウオンバットはのんびり歩き回っていました。ぬいぐるみのようで、人気者。


Orang-utans were playing in a large area.
オラウータンは10頭ほどいました。広く楽しい区画で遊んでました。


I had lunch on the ground. Birds came close to me.
芝生で休憩中、辺りには鳥たちがやってきました。



There was a kookaburra on the tree. I remembered the Australian song of kookaburra.
ククバラ（ワライカワセミ）がいました。オーストラリアではよく見かける鳥で、「Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree....」という童謡もあります。


Children were gazing at it.
頭でっかちでかわいい。子ども達は「ククバラだー！」と見つめていました。
