Breiðdalvík - Café Margret -

I wanted to have a lunch at Café Margret where my guidebook recommended. I asked the bus driver if he knew where the café was. He said “3km” and pointed at a house at the foot of a mountain.
ガイドブックに載っていたCafé Margretで昼食にしたかったので、ドライバーに訪ねると、「３km」と行って、山のふもとにある建物を指差してくれた。


I walked to the café. There were pastures.
カフェに向かって歩き始める。辺りには羊や馬たち。


Horsetails
スギナらしきものをよく目にしたので、もしかしてと思ってたら、ありました。ツクシ。


I arrived at Café Margret. There were two flags, Iceland and Germany. The owner is German.
Café Margretに到着。オーナーがドイツ人なので、ドイツの国旗もあった。


I ordered “herring in cream sauce and fried potato”. I took this photo after I ate one piece. Herring is popular food in Iceland. It was nice.
I asked a glass of water. They gave me it, there was a slice of lemon in it. I felt the café had a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.
にしんの酢漬けに冷たいクリームソースがかかっていた。それに温かいポテトが添えてあった。一切れ食べてから写真を撮ったので、ちょっと美しさに欠ける。
にしんの酢漬けはアイスランドでは、とてもよく見かける。
おいしくて、大満足。お水をお願いすると、グラスの水にレモンが一切れ。カフェの中もきれいし、トイレも広くて気持ちいい。こころ配りが隅々まで感じられる。お会計の時に「どうやって、ここに来たの？」と訪ねられ、「バスで来た」と、まともに答えてしまった。ガイドブックで知って、バスのドライバーに場所を教えてもらったとかなんとか答えれば良かったなぁ。

カフェから村を見下ろす。


I walked down to the bus stop in the village.
I got the bus, went back to Höfn.
村のバス停に戻る。
終点から戻ってきたバスに乗り、ホプンに戻った。
