Expo Park 万博公園

I visited Expo Park in Osaka on April 10th. On the day before, I heard an announcer of NHK said “National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka ….”. I didn’t catch what he was talking about, but I was interested in that, checked on the internet.
I got off monorail at Banpaku Kinenkoen station, Taiyo-no-To which was Okamoto Taro’s work welcomed me.

前日、NHKで「国立民族学博物館で・・・」と特別展のことを紹介していたと思うのですが、それが私の心のアンテナにひっかかった。
インターネットで調べてみると、“聖地巡礼の旅”という特別展と“雲の上で暮らす”という写真展。特に写真展は4/10が最終日。明日がその日、行かなきゃ。
開館時間の10時から17時をめいっぱい、この博物館で過ごそうと早めに家をでたのですが、、、。予測はしていましたが、やはり公園内の花たちに足を止められました。
モノレールの駅を出ると、太陽の塔が迎えてくれた。サクラは満開。


I wanted to go to the museum directly, but flowers prevented me from going.
Cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
ハナカイドウというらしい。ピンクがかわいい。


These tiny buds were red, looked like roses.
つぼみは小さな赤いバラのよう。
のんびりしていたら、なかなか公園の入り口にもたどりつけない。。。


There were various plants in the park. Small plums.
やっと自然文化園に入った。お散歩にいいところ。
梅はもう小さな実をつけていた。


Cherry blossoms began to fall.
満開のサクラは散り始め。


Taiyo-no-To was big, 70m high.
太陽の塔は大きい。公園内のどこからでも見えるのだろう。なんだか安心する。


There was a tree at the side of tea field.
お茶畑のそばに一本の木。


I don’t know the name of the tree. It smelled nice.
何の木？　いい香り。


I haven’t seen huge number of tulips for more than ten years. It was great.
Last time I saw such scene was Tonami Tulip Festival.
チューリップフェスタ。こんなにたくさんのチューリップ久しぶり。砺波のチューリップを思い出した。





Finally I reached the museum, enjoyed all day. Special Exhibition, Pilgrimage and Sacred Places, was held at the museum.
On my way to the station, I noticed that there was a face on the back of Taiyo-no-To.

なんとか博物館にたどり着き、閉館ぎりぎりまで楽しんだ。
フランスからスペインのサンチャゴ・デ・コンポステラまでの巡礼の旅を紹介していた。
バックパックを背負って自然と対話しながら一日約30km歩き、男女相部屋の安い宿に泊まり、初めて会う人と語らい、何かを悟る。それって、交通手段に電車やバスを使うものの、私の旅のスタイルにちょっと似ている。
帰り道。太陽の塔の背中にも顔があるんだ。かっこいい〜！
