Shima 志摩の旅 7

The last destination of my Shima trip was Daio. Daio has many picturesque places. So it's called the town for painters.

登茂山展望台から約6kmてくてくお散歩。志摩の旅、最終訪問地は大王崎。絵かきの町・大王と呼ばれ、多くの画家が作品を残した場所だそうです。
魚介、干物、真珠などのみやげ店の並ぶ道を過ぎて、八幡さん公園へ。大王崎灯台が美しく見えました。


I climbed up stairs of Daiozaki lighthouse.
大王崎灯台に登って見渡しました。




Daio is a fishing village.
大王の町と波切漁港。



I kept on walking around the lighthouse.
灯台のあたりを、てくてくお散歩。


Whale hunting used to held in this place. Sometimes oval stones were found from stomach of whales. They were called Kujira-ishi, whale stone.

波切神社にあった、鯨石。昔、波切で行われていた捕鯨で、解体された鯨から出てきた卵型の石。漁師たちが、神のたたりを恐れて波切神社に祀られとか。


Fishing boats were leaving. Daio has lots of stone walls, stone steps and alleys. If I'd had time more, I could've found out more lovely places.

海では漁船が出港していました。大王の町は、石垣や石段が多くあり、静かな漁村。もっとゆっくりしたかったのだけど、、、また来よう。
