Taisetsuzan Shirakabaso YH 大雪山白樺荘YH

We stayed at Taisetsuzan Shirakabaso YH, it took ten minutes on foot from Asahidake ropeway. I’ve stayed there for several times, but I was astonished. It was rebuilt. It had nice bathes, rooms and an observation tower.
旭岳ロープウエイのりばから徒歩10分のところに、大雪山白樺荘YHがある。以前は何度も泊まったけど、10年ぶりくらいに訪れ、その姿の驚いた！　「改装中です」と、しばらく休館だったのは、6-7年前。こんなにも、素晴らしいとは。
広々とした食堂。内風呂も露天風呂も気持ちいい。本館の隣には、
ログハウスが以前のままあった。
螺旋階段を登ると、展望台へ。


I went up the observation tower. I could see Asahidake behind the woods.
展望台からの風景。深い森と、どっしりした旭岳が見える。


There were flowers in front of the YH.
YH前には、ルピナスが咲いていた。


We took a bus to Asahikawa. We had a short stop at Tenninkyo on our way. There were strange rocks.
旭岳温泉から旭川への始発のバスは、途中天人峡でしばらく停車。
奇岩が並んでいた。


We headed to Otaru.
We had a lunch, took a walk along Otaru canal.
And then, we went to shops of music box and glass. We enjoyed on the last day of this trip.
旭川から電車に乗って、小樽へ。
まずは、お昼ご飯をしっかり食べて、お散歩。オルゴール館や北一ガラスで楽しむ。小樽運河のそばでは、人々が思い思いに過ごしていた。

Asahidake 旭岳 3 Flowers

Chinguruma, popular alpine flower in Japan.
チングルマのお花畑。チンクルマは日本各地の山々で見られる。
大雪山でも、あちこちに咲いていてる。


Meakankinbai(?)
メアカンキンバイ（？）　時々見かけました。


Mitsubaouren(?)
ミツバオウレン（？）　可憐です。


Kokemomo. They have red berries in autumn.
コケモモ。秋には赤い実をつける。


Iwahige.
As I was taking photos of Iwahige, an elderly man asked me “What is its name? I took photos of them, too. They are so cute, aren’t they!”
イワヒゲ。鏡池の周辺で出会った。
近づいて眺めたり、写真を撮ったりしていると、そばで大きな望遠レンズでギンザンマシコという鳥を撮影していたおじさんが、「その花、何ていう名前？　俺も撮ったんだ。めんこいよなぁ。」
そう、めんこい花！　ホント、めんこい！


Jimukade.
Its stem looked like a centipede (mukade in Japanese), but its flower was pretty.
I met a son (he seemed 50’s years old) and his father (he seemed 80’s years old). They were walking slowly, as same pace as me. We were in the same ropeway up, and down.
ジムカデ。茎はムカデのようなのに、名前に似合わず可愛い花。
早朝の散歩で、80歳代くらいの父と50歳代くらいの息子に出会った。「この花は何だった？昨日、教えただろう。」と言葉はぶっきらぼうだけど、愛情が感じられる。父親の歩く早さに合わしていたのでかなりスローペース。お花を眺めながらゆっくり歩く私は、この親子と追い越し追い越されて、同じペース。
ジムカデに近づいて写真を撮っていると、「花をやっているんですか？」と、その息子さんに声をかけられた。何と答えれば良いのかわからず、「好きです」とだけ答えた。最後まで同じペースで、帰りのロープウエイでも一緒だった。なんだか不思議な出会い。


Miyamarindo.
The season of this flower would be later.
ミヤマリンドウ。「わぁー、ここにリンドウが咲いてるわよ。」との女性のグループの声に、近寄ってみた。花の季節はもう少し後だと思うけど、気の早い一輪でした。


a kind of carex.
名前はわかりませんが、スゲの一種。地味だけと、よく見るとかわいいでしょ。


Iwabukuro. They were near Sugatami-no-ike.
姿見の池の近くで咲いていた、イワブクロ。
「向こうに紫の花が咲いているのですが、何という名前ですか？」と、聞かれた。時々、ガイドに変身します。


Ukonutsugi.
ウコンウツギ


Urajironanakamado.
Its leaves will turn into red in autumn.
ウラジロナナカマド。秋には、葉が真っ赤に染まり、大雪山の紅葉を美しくする。花は真っ白だったんだ！

Asahidake 旭岳 2 -Flowers-

There were lots of alpine flowers.
They are Ezokozakura, which is my favorite flower.
お花畑には、たくさんの高山植物が咲いていた。
これは、エゾコザクラ。
初めての夏の大雪山で出会って以来、一番好きな花。青森の岩木山に咲いていたミチノクコザクラも似ている。

There was a yellow circle in the center of flower, looked like eyes of panda. Himekozakura in Hayachine-san had one, too.
コザクラの花の中心は、パンダやメジロの目のようで、かわいい。
早池峰山で出会ったヒメコザクラも、花の中心に黄色い輪があった。


All of them were Ezotsugazakura.
一面、エゾツガザクラのお花畑。

Ezotsugazakura were so cute.
While I was taking photos close to flowers, tiny bugs bit my arms and face, annoyed me.
近づいて見ると、こんなにかわいい。
ただ、小さな虫がたくさん飛んできて、手も顔もチクチク刺してくるのには、参ってしまった。。。

Aonotsugazakura.
似ているけど、この白いお花はアオノツガザクラ。


Tiny flowers, Minezuou.
4-5mmしかない、小さな花が咲いていた。
ミネズオウというお花。


Kibanashakunage.
エゾツガザクラやミネズオウと同じ斜面に、キバナシャクナゲも咲いていた。


Ezoisotsutsuji.
この斜面にはエゾイソツツジが満開。

Asahidake 旭岳 1

We headed to Asahidake onsen from Asahikawa station by bus. Our bus climbed up in the woods. I was getting exited. I used to come to Taisetsuzan in summer and in autumn in 1990’s. Asahidake is the highest mountain in Hokkaido. When I came to Asahidake with my sister, we gave up to climbed to the top of Asahidake because of strong winds.
Taisetsuzan consists of many mountains, such as Asahidake, Kurodake、Akadake 、Midoridake and so on. I like all of them.
On this trip, I chose Asahidake. Because it is easy to climb up by ropeway, there are lots of alpine flowers.

旭川からバスに乗って、旭岳温泉へ。森林の中をバスがどんどん登っていくと、心わくわく。以前は夏や秋 に、よく訪れた場所。妹との北海道の旅にも、訪れた。その時は、強風のために旭岳の登頂を途中で断念した。旭岳は北海道の最高峰。
大雪山は旭岳、黒岳、赤岳 、緑岳などなど山々の総称。天気が良ければ、旭岳から黒岳へ縦走も楽しい。大雪山は日本で一番好きなところ。
旭岳周辺へはロープウエイで簡単に行けて、一周約60分のお散歩コースも歩きやすい。（たった60分では、ここの素晴らしさを堪能できるとは思いませんが。。。）高山植物がたくさん咲いている。足が悪い両親でも、ここなら楽しめるだろうと、大雪山系のうち旭岳を選んだ。


We got off at Asahidake onsen, took a ropeway.
旭岳温泉でバスを降りて、旭岳ロープウエイに乗った。以前は中間駅で乗り換えが必要でしたが、数年前に101人乗りのロープウエイに代わり、一気に上の駅まで上がれる。どんどん遠くまで見渡せる。


The higher the ropeway climbed, the smaller the trees under the ropeway were. We were close to the tree line.
森林限界に近づくにつれて、木々がだんだん低くなっていく。
大雪の山々も見えてくる。


We took a walk on a hiking course. There were lots of alpine flowers along the path.
ロープウエイを降りると、旭岳が迎えてくれた。お散歩道を歩き出すが、道沿いには花たちが咲いているので、ひとつひとつ見ているとなかなか先に進まない。
一面、お花畑のところも多い。ここはエゾコザクラの群生地。


The weather in the mountains is changeable. Suddenly Asahidake appeared clearly.
山の天気は変わりやすい。雲が晴れて、旭岳がくっきり姿を現した。

このお散歩コースで一番高いところ、姿見展望からお散歩コースを見渡す。


The cold water flowed from snow. Snow remained at many places.
I heard the sound of thunder in the distance. I walked faster.
We met at the ropeway station, went down. We stayed at Taisetsuzan Shirakabaso YH on the night.
雪渓があちこちで残っている。雪渓の下から小川が流れ出していた。もちろん水は冷たかった。
しばらくすると、遠くで雷の音が聞こえ始めた。ちょっとスピードアップ。ロープウエイ駅に戻っていくと、両親は心配顔で待っていた。「霧が下からどんどん上がって来るのよ。」と。10分後にロープウエイ駅も霧に包まれていた。
ロープウエイで降り、徒歩10分の大雪山白樺荘YHで１泊。


The ropeway ran from 6am. I woke up early morning, walked on the hiking course again.
山では朝は快晴のことが多い。次の日、旭川行きのバスは8:45、ロープウエイの始発は6:00だったので、両親をYHへ残して、再び訪れた。


Sugatami-no-ike.
姿見の池。「昨日の夕方も来たんですが、また来てしまいました。」と、話し声が聞こえた。私だけじゃなかったみたい。


Kagami-ike.(mirror pond) The clouds reminded me of the last autumn trip .
鏡池。向こうには、雲海が広がっていた。早起きのごほうび。去年も雲海 を黒岳で見たことを思い出した。

Chinguruma.
I wanted to stay here all day. But we had to go to Otaru my parents were looking forward to visiting.
チングルマのお花畑。
一日中でも、ここで過ごしたかったのだけど、両親が楽しみにしている小樽にも行かなきゃ。。

Jozankei 定山渓

We headed to Jozankei from Sapporo by bus, it took 80 minutes. We stayed at Jozankei Onsen, which was surrounded by mountains. There might be Kappa’s folklore, kappas welcomed us.

札幌からバスで約80分。山に囲まれた定山渓温泉で一泊した。
ここでは河童伝説があるのか、あちこちで河童たちが出迎えてくれた。（ホテルの売店で、“河童クッキー”が売られていたけど、遠野でまったく同じ商品があった。。）


There was a stream in Jozankei Onsen.
山に囲まれ、川が流れている。静かでした。


We entered in a hotel, checked in. We were said “Here is on the sixth floor. Your room is on the fourth floor, you can go down by the elevator.” When I looked at the hotel from outside, I understood that the entrance of the hotel was on the sixth floor.
ホテルの正面玄関入ると、フロント。「ここは６階ですので、お部屋は下になります。」なるほど、断崖に立っていました。

I took a walk around the hotel. There was a path along the stream.
部屋に両親を残して、外へ。てくてくお散歩。
温泉街から渓流沿いに、お散歩コースがあった。


I enjoyed walking in the trees. But I was alone, I was getting concern about bears. I started singing songs to avoid bears.
緑に囲まれ、気持ちいいー。
温泉街に近いとはいえ、クマに遭ったらどうしよう。。。と、歌を歌いながら歩いた。


I reached the riverbank. I felt pleasant winds.
I saw some people walking forward the bank. They enjoyed walking in the trees.
しばらく歩くと、河原にでた。風が気持ちいい。
他の観光客たちの姿が見えた。夕暮れのお散歩を楽しんでいた。


I went back to the hotel for diner.
I made a reservation for the hotel on the internet. I chose the hotel because its diner looked nice.
Fortunately the information didn’t betray me. Every dish was great.
夕食の時間となり、ホテルの戻った。ホテルはインターネットで探して予約したのだけど、なにより食事が魅力的で選んだ。
実際に、その期待どおりの食事。一品一品に料理人の心が感じられた。おいしいー。


Sashimi was on the ice.
細かい氷の上にのっているのは、お刺身。炭がかたわらにさしてあった。


We really enjoyed the dishes. We also enjoyed the scenery from the restaurant.
次々の運ばれて来る料理を堪能していると、外はほんのり夕焼け。


On the following morning, I took a walk around the hotel. There were some place that anybody enjoy ashiyu, soak your feet in onsen.
We had delicious breakfast, checked out the hotel. We saw these kappas on our way to bus stop. They seemed like telling us “We are waiting for your next visit”
次の日も、朝からてくてくお散歩。足湯ができる公園もあった。
河童たちに見送られて、バス停へ。「また来てねー」と言ってるよう。
