Shimabara 島原半島の旅

I visited Shimabara in Nagasaki prefecture. I flew to Nagasaki Airport. I went to Isahaya by bus, then I got on a train.

イルカを見たい。島原半島を訪れました。長崎空港からバスで諫早へ。諫早駅から島原鉄道で島原へ。

一両編成のかわいい電車。

Ariake Sea.

有明海が見えました。

I got off at Shimatetsu-honshamae.

前の方は、こんなかわいいイラストでした。

I stayed at Shimabara city for two nights.

島原市内で２泊。宿に向かう時、夕焼けに虹。

On September 17, I headed to Kadusa by bus to join a dolphin watching tour.

次の日、台風がUターンしたこともあって、良い天気。バスで加津佐へ向かいました。

この山は、眉山。すぐ後ろには、普賢岳と平成新山があります。普賢岳の噴火の時には、この眉山が島原市内を守ったとか。

I got off the bus at Kadusa-kaisuiyokujo-mae. Shimabara Tetsudo used to operate to Kadusa.

約75分で、終点の加津佐海水浴場前。以前は島原鉄道がここまで来ていたのですね。

I walked along the sea.

海沿いを約10分、歩きます。

I could see Amakusa.

向こうに見えるのは、天草。天草の近くまで、船で行きました。

The dolphin watching tour office was in that fishing port.

橋を渡ってすぐのところに、イルカウォッチングの旗がなびいてます。

We went aboard this boat.

イルカウォッチングへ出発。インターネットで予約すると、10%OFFでした。

Waterfall グトルフォス

The last destination was Gullfoss. I came here in 2005 was a snowy landscape.

6月16日。この日最後の目的地は、グトルフォス。６年前は雪景色でした。

時間は21時過ぎでしょうか。空がほんのりオレンジになっていました。

It was one of famous waterfalls in Iceland. We walked on a pathway.

アイスランドには、水量の多い滝が多いけれど、ここもすごい迫力です。水しぶきがやってきます。

滝のそばまで、遊歩道が続いています。

We went back to Reykjavik. It was a long precious day.

ここから、レイキャビクへ戻りました。宿に着いたのは、23時頃でした。長い一日でした。

Geysir 間欠泉

The next destination was the most famous spot in Iceland, Geysir. Geyser  was named after it. 

次の場所は、アイスランドで一番の観光地、ゲイシール。

このアイスランドの言葉Geysirから、英語で間欠泉をgeyserと言われるようになったとか。

There are hot springs, mud pots, dormant geysers and active geysers in this place. Geysir used to spout water up to 70-80m into the air, but it became dormant in 1930. After an earthquake in 2000, the spring became active again, but only a few times a day and small-scale. 

Now Strokkur welcomes us. Strokkur has regular eruptions at every 8-10 minutes, up to 25-30m.   

ここには温泉が点在し、活発な間欠泉、休止中の間欠泉があります。ゲイシールはかつて、70-80mの間欠泉でしたが、1930年に休止。2000年の地震をきっかけに規模は小さいながら１日2-3回、吹き上げるようになったとか。

現在はストロックル間欠泉が8-10分おきに25-35m吹き上げています。

わっ、吹き上げた。ストロックル間欠泉です。

I went closer.

そばに近づいてみました。

Amazing!

迫力あります！

I was looking at the water. The surface of water started swaying,  

じっと眺めていると、水面が揺れだし、

the color turned into blue, then a sudden spout of hot water.

水面が青くなった次の瞬間に、吹き上がります。

This is Geysir. It's difficult to see its irregular eruptions.

すぐそばにあるゲイシール。1日2-３回しか吹き上げないので、なかなかその姿が見れません。

There were several dormant geysers.

そばには、休止中の間欠泉がいくつかあります。

Strokkur spouted up hot water again! 

わっ、ストロックル間欠泉がまた吹き上げた。

近くにホテルやレストランがあります。何時間眺めていても、飽きないでしょう。

Þingvellir National Park シンクヴェトリル国立公園

It was a long day. I joined a combo tour, a glaciers tour and a golden circle tour. Þingvellir National Park was the last destination of the glaciers tour and the first destination of the golden circle tour. It is an important place historically, culturally and geologically. The Althingi which is the oldest parliamentary institution in the world was established at Þingvellir in 930. Geologically this place is between the North American and Eurasian Plates. There were rifts that made amazing sceneries.

この日は、長い１日でした。氷河ツアーと、ゴールデン・サークルというアイスランドで一番人気の観光地を巡るツアーのコンボ。朝から夜中までのツアーでした。
ゴールデンサークルの最初の観光地は、シンクヴェトリル国立公園。
ここは大地の裂け目（ギャウ）があり、ユーラシアプレートと北米プレートの境目。年に約2cmずつ離れているとか。
また、アルシングという世界初（930年）民主議会が開催された場所でもあります。


There was a lake. Tourists enjoy scuba diving in the lake to see some rifts in the clear water.
そばに湖があります。ここは透明度が高く、湖底にも大地の裂け目があるので、人気のダイビングスポットになっているらしい。






If I'd had a more time, I would've taken a walk around. I came here in 2005.
展望台からの風景。ツアーでなければ、ここをゆっくりお散歩したかった。
2005年の秋に訪れた時には、雪が多かった。




Tour guides and tourists except me on the glaciers tour returned to Reykjavik. I said Good-by to them.
氷河へ一緒に行ったこの４人（ツアーガイド２人と、アイルランドからの２人）とは、ここでお別れでした。


I joined a golden circle tour, one guide and about ten tourists. We visited one of rifts with clear water.
ゴールデンサークルツアーのバスがやってきました。ツアーガイドはやや年配の経験豊かそうな男性。冗談もあり、楽しく観光案内をしてくれました。乗客は約10名でにぎやか。
高台からの風景を見た後、大地の裂け目のひとつに連れて行ってくれました。美しい風景でした。
