Kamakura -Daibutsu 鎌倉大仏

I got to Daibutsu. There were sightseeing buses at a carpark, lots of people visited there. To my surprise, one fifth or more visitors were foreigners.
山道から出て、少し歩くと鎌倉大仏に着いた。観光バスが並び、人の多さにびっくり。修学旅行なのか、学生も多い。
5人に1人は外国人ではないかと思う程、外国人も多い。英語やフランス語、韓国語など、いろいろな言葉が飛び交っていた。


I went inside Daibutsu.
大仏さまの内部。頭のくりくりまで、見られた。


Kawazu Sakura was going to bloom.
お庭には、河津桜なのでしょう、今にも咲きそうでした。

Kamakura -Sasuke inari 佐助稲荷

I left Zeniarai Benten, headed to Sasuke inari. The shrine was closed to the hiking course, in the woods.
There were fox statues guarding the shrine.

銭洗弁天から10分たらず歩くと、佐助稲荷に着いた。
いろいろな顔をした、キツネたちが出迎えてくれる。
ハイキングコースのほんの少し下。自然の中にあった。

Kamakura -Zeniarai Benten 銭洗弁天

I visited Zeniarai Benten. There was the entrance of the shrine on the steep slop. I went though the tunnel.
ハイキングの途中、銭洗弁天へ寄った。急な坂道の途中、岩壁に開いたトンネルが入り口。なんだか、わくわくする。トンネルの向こうは、どんな場所なのだろう。


There were five small shrines in Zeniarai Benten. There were ponds, waterfalls and streams.
本宮、奥宮、上之水神社、下之水神社、七福神社がありました。
水が豊かなところでした。


I paid 100 yen for a rental Zaru (bamboo tray), incense sticks and candles. I lit incense sticks and candles, prayed.
Then I went into the cave, Okumiya. It has been said that you wash your money with the water of this stream, the money will double.

お金を洗うためのザルのレンタルと、お線香とローソクを買う。100円。お線香とローソクを立ててお祈りしてから、奥宮へ。
この洞窟のわき水でお金を洗うと、それが倍増すると言われています。


I put coins in rental zaru, poured the water on them.
I found coins in the bottom of the stream. Just after that, someone shouted “I dropped my coins in the water!” You have to be careful not to drop coins.

ザルにお金を入れて、ここを流れる水をひしゃくですくって、洗います。流れの中には、お金が落ちていました。
若者グループから「あー！落としたー！」と声が聞こえました。洗っている時に、お金を落としてしまったようです。

Kamakura -Hiking ハイキングコース

There are several hiking courses in Kamakura. I had wanted to visit Zeniarai-Benten since I looked it on Josh’s blog, so I walked on Daibutsu hiking course which was between Jochiji and Daibutsu.
鎌倉にはハイキングコースがいくつかある。銭洗弁天に行ってみたかったので、浄智寺から鎌倉大仏へと続く“大仏・葛原が丘コース”を歩いた。
浄智寺から約５分で、ハイキングコース。最初と最後は急な坂。それ以外は、登ったり下ったり。


The hiking course was close to residential area, sometimes I could see houses while I was walking. But lots of birds lived there. I liked the nature of Kamakura.
ハイキングコースからは、住宅地が見え隠れする。
それなのに、自然が豊か。鳥たちも多く、カケスやトンビも飛んでいた。


I could see the sea.
海が見える場所もあった。


When I was walking, something hit on my head. I looked up, a squirrel was eating these flowers.
I saw lots of squirrels... too many!
歩いていると、頭に何かが当たった。ん？上を見ると、リス。ここではリスもよく見かけた。多すぎるほど。


I saw pretty flowers.
名前は分からないけど、かわいい花が咲いていた。

Kamakura -Jochiji 浄智寺

I left Tokei-ji, walked for five minutes. I got to Jochi-ji.
東慶寺から５分くらい歩くと、木々に囲まれた浄智寺に着いた。







How deep was it?
横井戸。どのくらい奥行きがあるのだろう？


Hotei-sama. It’s believed that rubbing on Hotei’s belly brings good luck. His belly was shiny.
布袋さま。お腹をさするとご利益があるとか。
みんなに触られて、お腹はつるつる。

Kamakura -Tokeiji 東慶寺

A friend of mine, Josh often posted photos of Kamakura on his blog. I wanted to visit Kamakura again. Last time I visited Kamakuwa was more than ten years ago, with two friends. I had two days off in this week, so I decided to go there.
I could see Mt. Fuji from airplane, I had a feeling this trip would be nice.
I took a bus from Haneda Airport to Yokohama station, then I took a train to Kitakamakura.
I started walking from Kitakamakura. At first, I visited Tokei-ji.

友人のJoshのブログには、鎌倉の風景がよく登場する。写真を見るたびに行ってみたいなぁ、と思っていた。２連休を利用して、行ってみた。鎌倉は十何年前に女３人旅以来、２回目。
飛行機からは、きれいに富士山が見えた。良い旅の予感。
羽田空港から横浜までバスに乗り、そこから電車。
北鎌倉からてくてくお散歩。最初に訪れたのは、東慶寺。


I paid the admission fee, 100yen, then I entered the temple.
There were Ume trees along the pathway. A few Ume blossoms were left.

拝観料100円。Joshの言っていたとおり、京都に比べて安い。
梅の木が並んでいたが、時期は過ぎていた。満開だと、きれいでしょうね。

かわいい花が出迎えてくれた。木瓜（ぼけ）の花。

There was a graveyard. There were many gravestones among trees and flowers. It had peaceful and solemn atmosphere. Some gravestones were protected in holes dug on rocks.

奥には花々に囲まれて、墓石が並んでいた。６〜７人が花の手入れや落ち葉の掃除をされていました。こんなにも美しく静かで奥行きがあるとは。鎌倉って、すごい！と感動。
岩の壁を掘って、お墓を納めてる。ここでも何カ所かありました。

Kitano Tenmangu 2 北野天満宮

There were more Ume blossoms.
Wedding ceremony was held at the shrine.

梅苑だけでなく、境内でも梅の花は満開でした。
結婚式も行われていました。

Kitano Tenmangu is famous for Ume. A friend of mine, Midori told me “ Kitano Tenmangu has Ume groves. They are gorgeous.” I visited there on the day I went to Kyoro Gyoen.
Most of Ume trees were in full bloom.
There were lots of people. Some people were taking photos with their tripods, some people were in their Kimono, some people were smoking, children were running around.
The entrance fee was 500 yen including Ume tea and sweets.

友人のみどりさんに「北野天満宮は梅がきれいですよ。」と教えてもらい、御所を訪れた日に行ってみた。参道左手に梅苑の入り口があり、500円払って入る。
ほぼ満開の木が多い。遅咲きの木たちはたくさんのつぼみをつけている。
そして、たくさんの人。大きなカメラで三脚立てて写真を撮ってる人たち。着物の人たち。ベンチでタバコ休憩している人たち。走り回る子どもたち。
入場料にはお茶代も入っていて、茶屋でインスタントの梅茶とお菓子をいただく。






Midori had told me “ There is better place ahead the Ume grove.” I was looking for the path leading there.
I found the path on the corner of the Ume grove. I walked on the path, reached another Ume grove, Odoishita Baien.

みどりさんに「多くの人は手前だけを見て帰っちゃうけど、奥がいいんです。」と言われていたので、それを手がかりに散策すると、ありました。奥へと続く歩道。行ってみると、もうひとつの梅苑“お土居下梅苑”。



There were drooping Umes along a stream, Kamiya-gawa. Here was one of beautiful places for taking photos. People were posing for photos with their family.
紙屋川に沿って、枝垂れ梅が並ぶ。ここでは、みなさん記念撮影してた。私も外国人のお母さんに赤ちゃんと一緒の写真を撮って欲しいと頼まれました。

馬酔木（あせび）の花も咲いていました。
