Boab Prison Tree 囚人の木

Our last destination was Derby. This is Boab Prison Tree. Aboriginal prisoners were kept in the tree temporarily.
バングルバングル４日間ツアーの最後の目的地は、ダービーの町。
これは、囚人を閉じ込めていたという「囚人の木」。内部が、広い空洞になっている。
キンバリー地方から連れて来られたアボリジニの人々が、一時的に収容され、ここから真珠産業などのために船で送られたとか。




Old Derby Gaol. This jail was used for Aboriginal prisoners.
町の中には、アボリジニの人たちが収容されていた檻も、保存されています。
悲しい記憶です。


There were many baobab trees around Boab Prison Tree.
「囚人の木」の周囲に、個性的な姿のバオバブたち。






We had the last break of 4 days tour. We were talking about where we were impressed most in this tour.
Then we went back to Broome.
ツアー最後のティータイム。
５歳から60歳代のメンバーと過ごした４日間。楽しい思い出となりました。

Windjana Gorge ウィンジャナ渓谷

Windjana Gorge National Park.
ウィンジャナ渓谷を、てくてくお散歩。






It might be a fossil seashell.

We noticed something in the stream.

It was a crocodile.
クロコダイルです。


We walked along the stream.
川沿いを歩きます。




There were a lot of crocodiles.
川には、クロコダイルがたくさん住んでいました。
みんなほとんど動かず、じーっとしていました。

Tunnel Creek トンネル・クリーク

We visited Tunnel Creek National Park. We walked in the natural tunnel with flashlights.
トンネル・クリーク。自然のトンネルを流れる小川を、懐中電灯を持ちながら歩きました。前方の岩の割れ目が入り口。






We walked in a creek.
明るいところで、ほっと一息。


The sky was blue.
青い空。


There were lots of bats.
ここにも、大きなコウモリたち。


We kept on going.
先に進みます。


Is there anything?
時に膝上までの深さを歩きます。何かいないかなぁ。


Yes, it's a crocodile.
いました！　えっ？　クロコダイル。。。



We came out from the tunnel. Swimming was fun.
トンネルを抜けると、池のようになっていました。みんな、泳ぎだしました。


We went back the tunnel.
歩いてきた道を戻ります。






It seemed like an exploration.
探検みたいで、楽しかった。

Baobab trees バオバブ

There were lots of Baobab trees.
車窓からバオバブの木がたくさん見られました。走る車からの撮影は難しいなぁと思っていたら、停車。


How tall they are! How old are they?
大きいです。樹齢は何十年？　何百年？




We headed to the next destination, Tunnel Creek
出発の合図があっても、みんななかなかバスに戻ろうとしません。
やっと集まったみんなを乗せて、バオバブの中、次の目的地を目指します。
