We headed to the next destination.
氷河から、次の目的地へ。また馬たちが見えた。

アイスランドの風景！


We had a short stop.
途中で停車し、休憩。


There were no trees but tiny flowers.
足元には、かわいい花たちも。


There were power lines in the nature.
なんにもない自然の中に、送電線。ドッテテ、ドッテテ、ドッテテド。宮沢賢治の童話を思い出す。



The next destination is Þingvellir National Park.
湖もあった。もうすぐ、大地の割れ目に到着。

Langjökull ラングヨークトル氷河

Our vehicle ran barren mountain pass, headed to Europe's second largest glacier, Langjökull.
ラングヨークトル氷河へ向かいます。大自然、がたがた道。アイスランドでは、こんな場所は多くて、前回の旅では路線バスもこんな川をざぶざぶ渡っていました。




We arrived at the edge of the glacier. We changed vehicles.
氷河のふもとに到着。ラングヨークトル氷河はヴァトナヨークトルに次ぐアイスランドで（ヨーロッパで）2番目に大きな氷河。4WDを降りて、


Soon after we enjoyed on the glacier, this vehicle stuck. One of our tour guides dug the snow with a shovel, another guide operated a pulling vehicle.

氷河専用車に乗り換えます。50人くらい乗れるでしょう。でもこの日は、私達３人だけ。朝は天気が悪かったので、キャンセルした人が多かったのでしょう。
氷河を走り出してすぐ停車。タイヤが深みにはまってしまいました。ツアーガイドの男性２人のうち１人が大きなスコップで雪を掻きだし、１人はもう一台の車で引っぱり、、、


Finally our vehicle got out.
やっと脱出！　


We went up on the glacier.
ゆっくり氷河を登っていきます。



The vehicle stopped. We walked on the glacier around the vehicle.
しばし、氷河の上を歩きます。




The glacier was covered with volcanic ash.
アイスランドの氷河は火山灰をかぶっているので黒っぽい。でもその下には、青みがかったきれいな白。



We went down.
Uターンして、下ります。


There were dogs for dogsledding.
犬ぞり体験もできるようです。


They were cute and friendly.
ここの犬たちは人懐っこくて、かわいかった。

Enoo Onsen 栄之尾温泉

Kirishima Onsen is one of my favorite hot spring resorts. It takes about 40 minutes from Kagoshima Airport by bus. I stayed at Kirishima Iwasaki Hotel one night. The hotel has hot spring in the woods which is called Ryokukeitouen. I checked in at the hotel, then I walked to the hot spring.

好きな温泉郷のひとつ、霧島温泉郷。鹿児島空港からバスで約40分と交通の便が良い。鹿児島へプチ旅。
「緑渓湯苑」は、山の中に露天風呂があって、夏は水着で楽しめるという。標高約800mの霧島いわさきホテルにチェックイン。温泉に向かいます。


This place is about 800 meters above the sea.
200-300m下方では、雨が降っていました。ここに着いた時には、やんでいてラッキー。もやがかかって、いい雰囲気。夜には、明かりがともるようです。


I arrived at the hot spring.
到着。


This hot spring used to be called Enoo Onsen, discovered in 1744. In 1861 the feudal lord, Shimazu constructed summer resort facilities. There were several hot spring bathes along a stream.

栄之尾温泉といわれ、1744年に発見された。1861年に藩主島津忠義公がここに避暑地を設けたそうです。渓流沿いに露天風呂がいくつかあります。ホテルの宿泊者は半額の400円でした。


I put on a bathing suit.
水着に着替えて、温泉めぐり。


I was under the shade of trees. I heard birds' singing, felt cozy breeze. I really relaxed.
木陰の下。渓流の水の音、鳥やセミの鳴く声を聴きながら、そよ風を感じながらの温泉。これは最高！


The temperature of water was different. This place was colder than others, because of coming cold water from the stream.
温泉によって、温度が違う。ここは渓流の水が流れ込んでいて、ぬるめの湯。




This place was shallow. I lay down.
ここは、浅くなっていて、寝ながら温泉に浸かる。


I sometimes jumped into the stream to cool off.
温泉のすぐそばには渓流なので、身体が熱くなったら水に浸かって、クールダウン。


In 1866 Sakamoto Ryoma and his wife came here on a honeymoon.
1866年に坂本龍馬とお龍さんが新婚旅行で訪れた。昨年の大河ドラマで撮影された場所です。


There were ruins of summer resort facilities.
温泉の周囲には、藩主島津忠義公の避暑地跡。水着のままミニお散歩。



There was a stone bridge covered with moss.
苔むした石橋。小松帯刀さんも、渡ったのかしら。



I'll come back next summer to escape from hot weather.
ここは避暑にいいですね～。また来年！

Waterfalls 溶岩台地と滝

Our 4WD stopped by the river. I thought the river was special, but ...
車が川沿いの駐車場に停車。川に何かあるのかなと思ったら、、、


The water was gushing out from lava field! It's called Hraunfossar. The water came from a glacier, flowed underneath the lava field.

大地から水が湧き出ている！ Hraunfossar（フロインフォッサル）遠く離れた氷河から溶岩台地の下を水が流れ、この川に流れ出してるそうです！


The scenery was amazing! It reminded me of Shiraito-no-taki.
感動の景色です。日本にも、こんな風景が。白糸の滝。



We walked on a pathway. There was a great waterfall.
少し川上には、大きな滝が。


Barnafoss. It was massive volume of water!
Barnafossという滝。すごい水量です。





I crossed the bridge.
あの橋を渡って、対岸に行ってみましょう。




Lava field. It reminded me of Hawaii Island.
辺りは溶岩台地。ハワイ島にもこんな岩がありました。


There were tiny flowers.
足元を見ると、かわいい花。
