Hakodate 5 お散歩

I took a stroll in Hakodate. Tram 1-day pass (600yen) was useful.
函館のまちを、てくてくお散歩。市電１日乗車券（600円)は便利でした。

There were many steep slopes in Hakodate.
函館は、坂が多い。


I went into Old Hakodate Ward public hall.
旧函館区公会堂。中に入ってみました。


Gorgeous!

The view from the veranda was wonderful.

There were Western-style buildings.

Hakodate 4 熱帯植物園

Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden has a greenhouse. I had not expected to see flowers of hibiscus in Hokkaido.
函館市営熱帯植物園の温室。外は０℃近くなので、しばらくレンズが曇っていました。北海道でハイビスカスが見れるなんて。

There was an onsen in front of Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden. There were two bathtubs in the onsen. One had extremely hot water (48℃！), so I couldn't step into the bathtub. I soaked in the other bathtub add cold water. It was nice (it might be around 40℃), I relaxed.

この辺りは、湯の川温泉街です。熱帯植物園の前に温泉があったので、入ってみました。湯の花がたくさん付いた湯船が二つ。「今までにないくらい今日は熱いから、水を入れて冷ましたらいいよ」と、中で出会ったおばさまが湯の温度を下げてくれました。もうひとつの湯船は、とても熱くて入れない。入浴後、脱衣場に貼ってあったこの温泉の新聞記事に気付きました。なんと湯の温度は48℃でした。。。

Hakodate 3 サル山

I went to Hakodate City Tropical Botanical Garden. Japanese monkeys were taking a hot spring.
函館市営熱帯植物園のサル山には、温泉がありました。

They looked like people.
温泉は、人もサルも気持ちいい〜。






A monkey was eating an apple as if it had a mustache.
白い口ひげと思ったら、リンゴを食べています。

Hakodate 2 夜景

The night view of Hakodate was amazing. I went to an observation by ropeway.
函館に来たら、やっぱり夜景を見なきゃ。ロープウエイで展望台へ。





I could see the huge Christmas tree.
クリスマスツリーも見えました。

Hakodate 1 クリスマスツリー

I flew to Hakodate in Hokkaido on December 12.
There was a huge Chrismas tree which had been sent from one of its sister cities Halifax in Canada.

函館のクリスマスツリーです。今月中旬、訪れました。
函館の姉妹都市、カナダのハリファックス市から贈られたもみの木だそうです。





There were many shops and restaurants in the brick warehouses.
