
I went to a snow festival, Sapporo Yuki-Matsuri, with my parents. We flew to Shin-Chitose airport in the morning on February 6. We visited Shikotsu-ko to see another snow festival, Hyobaku-matsuri, before heading to Sapporo.
札幌雪まつり。私は行ったことがありますが、両親が見てみたいと。連れて行きました。航空券もホテルも10日前に予約しましたが、予想外に空いててびっくり、ラッキー。
朝の飛行機で新千歳空港へ。時間があったので、支笏湖畔で行われている氷瀑まつりに寄ってみました。夜はライトアップされてとてもきれいなのですが、昼もなかなか良いです。

We went through a tunnel of ice.
入り口のトンネルを通り抜けると、氷の世界。


There was a shrine made of ice.
氷でできた神社。

People stuck coins on the ice.
氷に張り付いているのは、お賽銭。

Green tunnel made of leaves and ice seemed like “Koke-no-domon” a gorge covered with moss.
この近くに「苔の洞門」という場所があります。岩にびっしりと苔が生えていて、とても幻想的な場所なのですが、その場所をイメージしたトンネルだそうです。

People climed up the huge snow construction.
高台に登って、会場を見渡せます。




Children enjoyed the ice slide.
滑り台も造られていて、子どもたちの楽しそうな声が響きます。

Joyful events must have been held on the ice stage at night.
このステージでいろいろと催しがあるのでしょう。

静かな冬の支笏湖。氷瀑まつりの期間はにぎやかです。
