There are tall trees in Alishan Forest Recreation Area. Most of them are over 1000 or 2000 years old.
阿里山の見どころのひとつは巨木。阿里山森林鉄道は日本統治時代に木材を運ぶ目的で建設された。

三代木。一番下の最初の木（初代）は樹齢約1500年とか。
I walked on hiking trails. The trees reminded me of my Yakushima trip.

阿里山国家森林遊楽区には遊歩道があり見どころたくさん。有名な観光地なので日中はたくさんの人が訪れます。
The sign said The Tokyo Cherry Blossom species was introduced into Taiwan by Japanese in 1903. Now there are about 18 cherry blossoms species in Alishan.
特に3月4月は桜の花が咲き観光客が多いそうです。桜は1903年に日本からもたらされ、現在は約18種類の日本と台湾の桜が阿里山にあるそうです。野鳥が多く、バードウオッチャーもたくさんいました。
I found Green-backed Tit in Alishan National Scenic Area.

2018年3月 阿里山 in Taiwan
I visited Alishan in March in 2018. I flew to Taoyuan international airport, then headed to Chiayi by Taiwan High Speed Rail. I went to Chiayi TRA station from Chiayi HSR station by Chiayi BRT.
台湾固有種の鳥たちに会えることを期待して、阿里山に向かったのは2018年3月。 昼の便で桃園国際空港へ飛び、MRTで高速鉄道の桃園駅へ。初めての台湾新幹線に乗って高鉄嘉義駅へ向かった。自由席は券売機で簡単に買え、車内は日本の新幹線と同じなので安心した。高鉄嘉義駅から台鉄嘉義駅まで嘉義BRTのバス。乗車時に青いカードを渡され下車時に渡したら無料だった。台鉄嘉義後駅バス停から歩道橋を渡って駅の正面へ。
I checked a bus stop for Alishan. I stayed at a hotel near Chiayi TRA station.
阿里山行きのバスを確認してから、駅近くのホテルで1泊。
I took a bus for Alishan on the following early morning.
翌朝、始発のバスで阿里山に向かいます。乗車時に、チャージしたEasyCardでピッ。自由席と指定席があるようで自由席窓側に座る。
The bus went up the mountain road.
山道をどんどん登る。
Alishan is famous for tea.
阿里山はお茶が有名。茶畑をよく見かけました。
It took about two and a half hours to get to the entrance of Alishan Forest Recreation Area. I stayed at Alishan House for two nights. So I went to the hotel by shuttle bus.
約2時間半で到着。阿里山国家森林遊楽区の入場口で入園料を支払う。バス下車時に入場料半額券をいただいたので150元でした。入場口を過ぎるとビジターセンターや飲食店などの店が並んでます。私は阿里山賓館というホテルに宿泊なので、ここからホテルの送迎バスに乗りました。
You can take a bus or a train to the central area.
入場口から中心地までは列車に乗るか、バスに乗るか、
You also can walk along the pathway.
または歩くか。最終日、帰りは徒歩で下りました。
I checked in Alishan House and got a map. I made a reservation of Sunrise Tour for following morning.
私は送迎バスで阿里山賓館に到着しチェックイン。日本語を話すスタッフにおすすめの遊歩道を聞いたり、翌朝の鉄道朝日チケットの予約をしたり。歴史館（本館）に2泊しました。部屋に荷物を置いて、てくてくお散歩。
I started walking around the hotel.
ホテルから出てすぐ、素晴らしい自然。

Shuishan Line 水山線を歩きます。
I walked along the railroad tracks.
線路沿いの遊歩道を巨木まで歩きます。
I noticed that there was a railroad on that mountain.
向こうの山に鉄道が見えます。
A part of Alishan Forest Railway is closed due to damages from a typhoon in 2015.
望遠で崖崩れが見えました。嘉義から阿里山への阿里山森林鉄道は一部不通が続いてます。

Shuishan Giant Tree is approximately 2700 years old.
水山巨木。樹齢約2700年とか。
People look like dwarves. 人が小さく見えます。
