Wave Rock in Australia

One of wonderful places in my West Australia trip in 2008 is Wave Rock. It's about 300 km east of Perth. I joined one day bus trip which took 14 hours. Wave Rock was a stunning landscape.

昨年９月、西オーストラリアの旅。まだ紹介できていない場所がありますが、そのひとつ。ウェーブロック。パースから東へ約300kmのところにあります。パースからの１日ツアーに参加しましたが、８時出発して、帰りは20時30分の予定が22時到着という14時間のバスの旅でした。
写真で見ていたより、ずっと迫力があって、大感激でした。

観光客たちは、波乗り、サーファーのポーズで記念撮影。


Wave Rock is a big rock like Uluru. The pathway led to the top of the rock.
ウェーブロックはウルル（エアーズロック）のような大きな岩の一部でした。
階段もあり、その大岩に登ってみました。


The panorama view from the top of the rock. Woops... I realized that I had climbed on the sacred rock, I had a sense of guilt.

大岩の上からは、平原が遠くまで見渡せました。
と、その時に気付きました。アボリジニの人たちにとって神聖なウルルに登ることは避けましたが、この岩も神聖な場所なはずなのに、登ってしまった。ごめんなさい。。。


There were trees and rocks on Wave Rock.
大岩の上には木々や岩がありました。


I met an elderly couple on the bus trip. Their digital camera's battery was dead, so I took a picture of them and sent it later. They were nice, I had a tea break with them.

足の悪い奥さまをいたわりながら歩いていた、ひ孫が３人もいるという夫婦。途中で夫婦のデジカメのバッテリーが切れてしまったので、私のカメラで撮りましょうと声をかけると、このポーズ。同じツアーに参加していて、この後のアフタヌーンティーでは、いろいろお話をしました。


There was a stone fence.
大岩から観光客が転げ落ちないように？柵がありました。


I walked down on the gentle slope, glanced at Wave Rock once again.
緩やかな坂を降りました。最後にもう一度、ウェーブロックを眺めました。


Hippo's Yawn which is a natural rock formation shaped like a hippopotamus. Native people used to give birth to babies in this sacred place.
ウェーブロックの近くにあった、カバのあくび岩。アボリジニの女性はここで出産をしたという、神聖な場所です。

Shiroishi 白石

I visited Shiroishi, about 15 minutes from Ogawara by train.
一目千本桜の大河原駅から電車で約15分。白石をてくてくお散歩。


I headed to Shiroishi-jo. Most of cherry blossoms had fallen.
白石城へ向かいました。伊達政宗の重臣、片倉小十朗景綱は人気上昇中だとか。
一目千本桜からそれほど遠くないのに、ソメイヨシノはほとんど散っていました。


Shiroishi-jo, which was reconstructed in 1995.
白石城。平成７年に復元されたとか。


This new castle smelled of wood.
新しいお城。木の香りがします。


This weeping cherry tree was in full blossom.
近くの神社では、枝垂れ桜がきれいに咲いていました。


There are streams in the town.
白石には、水の流れが多い。


This samurai house is open to the public.
武家屋敷が公開されていました。


Miyagi prefecture is famous for kokeshi, wooden doll.
宮城県はこけしで有名です。


White three special products of Shiroishi are Japanese paper, kudzu and noodles called umen. I had umen for lunch.
I often found wonderful buildings in Shiroishi.

白石の名産品「白石三白」は、和紙、葛、温麺。昼食に白石温麺（うーめん）を頂きました。油を使わず、麺の長さも短く消化に良い。約300年前、胃を病んだ父のために僧から教わった製法で作った温麺は、この親孝行の話から広まったそうです。
白石には、素敵な建物をよく見かけました。


There were many traditional storehouses with thick mortar walls.
立派な土蔵もたくさん見かけました。

Cherry Blossoms 一目千本桜 2

On the following day, it had stopped raining but it was blowing a gale from the early morning. Many cherry blossom petals have fallen.
次の日。雨はやんでいましたが、朝から強風。かなりの花びらが散りました。


I took a sightseeing boat.
この日は屋形船に乗ってみました。約30分間。
阿武隈川の屋形船を、桜まつりの時期に１艘借りて運営しているそうです。船の名前は、あぶくま号。
川から眺める桜も素敵。



I started walking along the river.
船から降りて、てくてくお散歩。
桜は青空に映えます。


There were many clouds. I waited for the sunshine made cherry blossom bright pink.
雲が多くて、なかなか日差しが桜をピンクにしてくれません。。。


Sunshine!
一瞬の日差し。


There was a farm for local citizen on the bank.
川岸には市民農園。花や作物が並んでいました。


If it had been a clear day, I could've seen mountains capped with snow at the distant view.
晴れていれば、蔵王連峰がバックに見えるはずでした。


I headed to a hill, Funaokajoato-Koen.
大河原駅から船岡駅まで歩いてきました。この日は、船岡城址公園へ登ってみました。


There was a observation point halfway up the hill.
途中の展望台。白石川沿いの桜並木が眺められます。ツアー客の人たちも次々やってきて、「うわぁー」と歓声が聞こえたり、記念撮影していたり。



I reached the top of the hill. I could see cherry blossoms along the river and ones on the hill at the same time, it was so gorgeous!
さらに登ると、白石川沿いの桜と船岡城址公園の桜が同時に見えて、とても豪華でした。


I walked down the hill, I glanced around cherry blossoms along the river.
船岡駅に戻ると、もう夕暮れ。


Sunset. I really enjoyed cherry blossoms in this year.
一目千本桜。十分堪能しました。

Cherry Blossoms 一目千本桜 1

In this February, I saw a picture of cherry blossoms along a river on a magazine. It was so gorgeous.
On April 14, I flew to Miyagi prefecture to see the scenery. I walked along Shiroishi River.

今年２月頃のこと。雑誌の表紙に、川沿いに並ぶ桜と水面に映る桜、晴れた青空と遠景に雪をかぶった蔵王連峰という写真があった。「行ってみたい」
それは、宮城県大河原町の「一目千本桜」でした。
休日と満開時期が重なりそうだったので、10日前に航空券を購入。ところが、４月初旬は初夏のような気温となって、満開時期が早まりやきもき。私が訪れた4月14日は満開から散り始めでした。なんとか間に合った！
夕方の小雨降る中、てくてくお散歩。




Cherry blossom petals and light rain were falling.
雨と桜の花びらが、ちらちら降ってきます。桜の回廊、豪華でした。



The reflection of cherry trees was wonderful.
雨降りにもかかわらず、水面に桜並木。感動。
天気良ければ、遠景に蔵王の山々でしたが。。。



I walked from Ogawara station to Funaoka station for 3.5km.
桜並木は、まだまだ続きます。


These cherry trees called Hitome-senbon-zakura were planted in 1923.
「一目千本桜」は、大正12年、大河原町出身の人が 1千本余本を植樹したのがはじまり。大河原町から柴田町にかけて、約8km桜が続きます。
今回歩いたのは、大河原駅から船岡駅までの約3.5km。


Each tree was gorgeous. It was fun to find out which tree was best for me.
大きな木が多く、それぞれ個性的。どの木が一番のお気に入りか、と考えながら歩くのも楽しい。



They were blooming beautifully.
きれいに咲いているので、なかなか足が進みません。「きれいだなぁ〜」


I started walking 4pm on this day. I stayed one night at Sendai, came back here on the next day.
最後まで雨降り。日暮れはもうすぐなので、いったん仙台に戻り宿泊。
明日はあの小山に登ってみよう。

Arima 有馬の桜

April 11. I visited Arima with my friends.
Fortunately cherry trees were in full blossom.
4月11日。友人たちと有馬へ。ちょうど桜は満開。
さくらまつりが開催されていました。





I haven't been to Arima for several years. To my surprise, there are new shops, spa facilities, museums and so on. We had an experience to make buckwheat noodles.
Arima has several kinds of hot spring. We took a hot spring which was brown water smell iron.

久しぶりの有馬には、新しい施設がたくさんあって楽しい。
そば打ち体験もできました。
茶色い湯の「金泉」。金泉の市営浴場「金の湯」でほっこり。
その他、透明の湯の「銀泉」の市営浴場「銀の湯」や、いろんな湯の「太閤の湯」、旅館などの立寄り湯でも、ほっこりできます。


We took a ropeway. I heard Japanese, English and Chinese in the ropeway. The number of foreign tourists has increased lately.

ロープウェーで六甲山越え。ここでも桜がきれい、、、と思っていたら、ロープウェー内のアナウンスで、「コブシが今きれいに咲いています」と。。。
観光客には外国人も多く、日本語、英語、中国語など聞こえてきます。


Kobushi were blooming on Mt. Rokko.
六甲山には、こんなにたくさんのコブシがあったのですね。
