Kizetsu-kyo 奇絶峡

I felt like soaking in onsen, I headed to Ryujin-onsen which is one of famous onsens. It took about two hours by train from Shin-Osaka to Kiitanabe, then I took a bus. I got off at Kizetsu-kyo on my way to Ryujin-onsen.

温泉が恋しくなり、以前から行ってみたかった和歌山県の龍神温泉に向かった。
新大阪から特急スーパーくろしおで約２時間、紀伊田辺駅。そこから龍神温泉行きのバス。時間があったので、奇絶峡で途中下車して、てくてくお散歩しました。


There was a stream beside the big rock.
大きな岩のそばには、水の流れがあり、滝になっていました。


Three big Buddha were carved on the wall of rock.
上部の大きな岩には、仏さまが三体彫られていました。


I went over a bridge.
橋を渡ると、滝がありました。


As I looked up, I could see a hut under the big rock.
見上げると、大きな岩とその下に何か建物。


Fudo-sama was set up in the hut.
登ってみると、お不動さんが祀られていました。


I found a wasps' nest, scary!
見上げると、大岩。スズメバチの大きな巣があって、怖い怖い。。


I climbed up to see three carved Buddha.
山道を登って、岩に彫られた仏さまを見に行きました。


Magaisanson-daisekibutsu. They were big. I was impressed.
磨崖三尊大石仏。大きくて、きれいなお顔で、感動。



I kept walking around until the next bus would come.
次のバスが来るまで、お散歩を続けました。

Perth Zoo 6 動物園

Pelicans with their round eyes were cute. I noticed that they didn't close their eyes.
最後にペリカンたちを眺めていました。
まんまるな目がかわいい。ずっと眺めていて気づいたのですが、まばたきしないのですね、ペリカンって。





I wanted to stay in the zoo until closing time. But I headed to the town, went to a supermarket to get fruits, milk and so on.
閉園までいたかったのですが、次の日から現地の５日間のツアーに参加するため、スーパーへお買い物に行かなきゃ。この日は日曜日だったので、閉店時間が早いはず。



After shopping, I went to Perth City YHA. I shared a room with five people. They said to me "Shark bay was really nice place." I was looking forward to the five day tour that I joined on the following day.

街へ戻り、スーパーで果物や朝食などお買い物。やはり５時閉店でした。
YHでは６人部屋。同室者はドイツ人やアメリカ人。明日からシャークベイへ行くツアーに参加すると言うと、「あそこは、良いよ～！」と。期待が高まる。

Perth Zoo 5 動物園

There were various trees.
この動物園には、素敵な木々もありました。









This is the tree I was very impressed in this trip.
今回の旅で、一番印象に残った木。


A colorful parakeet was on the tree.

Lovely flowers were blooming.
オーストラリアは春、花盛り。

Perth Zoo 3 動物園

Numbat. They eat termites. The number of them has been decreasing.
西オーストラリア州のシンボル、ナンバット（フクロアリクイ）。キツネやネコなどに脅かされ、数が減少した動物。シロアリが主食だそうです。



It's relaxing.
くつろぎだしました。




It started digging.
一生懸命、穴を掘り始めました。。。


Numbat has a striped pattern on its back, that reminds me of Tasmanian Wolf. I wish Numbat won't become extinct like Tasmanian Wolf.
背中の縞模様が、タスマニアの博物館で見た、今は絶滅したと言われるフクロオオカミ（タスマニアオオカミ）を思い出させる。絶滅しないでね。

Perth Zoo 2 動物園

I heard meow sound and saw a crowd of people. There were cute otters.
「みゃーみゃー」と子猫のような鳴き声が聞こえ、人だかり。のぞいてみると、癒し系のカワウソたち。かわいい。

ここにも癒し系のミーアキャット。「こっち向いて〜！」と声がかかります。



A galapagos tortoise was having lunch.
ガラパゴスリクガメもいました。何歳？


Baby galapagos tortoises were having lunch, too.
ガラパゴスリクガメの子どもたち。
